Well I must confess that I am a big fan of Ed Sheeran. So after unsuccessfully searching for an adult biography of him, I decided to read this young adult biography. In addition to some scant information that had appeared in interviews published in magazines, newspapers, and online, little original or new information was provided. The author also wrote in minute detail about the various techniques involved in producing a recording as well as minute detail about each song Sheeran wrote for his various EP’s and albums. I guess I just expected more from this book.

Let's be honest. I never read the wikipedia site about Ed, I never googled him or anything. I barely knew anything about him even thought I love his music since I realized that he is the guy that sings "The A team" and "Lego House" (and it took me a long time to get to the point where I knew his name, because Swiss radio stations weren't keen to tell you this). So everything I read was completely new for me. I learnt many things and was really impressed. Ed is the same age as me, but managed to Let's be honest. It's truly an inspiration to hear his story, because you want to go and realize your own dreams. I think the book was amazing, because it inspired me, it motivated me and it brought me closer to a singer that I really love and admire. What goals he reached and how he got there is simply amazing.

I'm a huge Sheeran fan, and when I was asked to read a piece of writing about music for a university assignment, this book was an obvious choice. Little did I know at the time it would also become fodder for my editing and publishing unit as well. If you can get past the terrible lack of editing, which frankly is quite an ask given that you find yourself at times having to re-write the bloody thing in your head just to understand the poorly constructed sentences, what you find is a glorified I'm a huge Sheeran fan, and when I was asked to read a piece of writing about music for a university assignment, this book was an obvious choice. If I were to review the author's ability to google, it would be 5 stars. But there is nothing new here. The average fan will learn nothing that they don't already know, except maybe that the author clearly has a massive man-crush. He has copy and pasted every article he could find on Sheeran, slapped them together hastily and called it a book. Certainly not deserving of the one star good reads requires me to leave.

Honestly, this book is trash. I didn't even finish it. It felt like a high school bibliography that the student didn't even want to write. The writing is very bland, and I just didn't feel any drive in the book. I hate writing bad reviews, but I couldn't stop myself this time

The story of how Ed Sheeran rose to fame, from a young boy who was encouraged by his parents to be creative to an amazing young man who not only creates fantastic music but is well grounded and likeable. This covers up to the release and success of his album + and much of the story is collated from interviews he has given to press and the music industry through these years. The author's writing is informative and easy to read, would look out for more by him if the artist interested me enough to The story of how Ed Sheeran rose to fame, from a young boy who was encouraged by his parents to be creative to an amazing young man who not only creates fantastic music but is well grounded and likeable. There's no denying Ed Sheeran is a musical talent, but in terms of his life story, it's nothing I'd call special. Reading this book was, for me at least, little more than a way of passing a few hours while travelling to and from Manchester as I do quite often and I left it on the train once I was done - that's how forgettable I found it.

A nice biography of Ed Sheeran, full of quotes from interviews and stories about musician's life. A good book to read by those who are interested in musical industry and starting their own musical carrier.

This book was pretty interesting. But being a solid fan for a while now, I knew most of this info. Also, how good of a biography can someone have at 22? Anyways, it was an easy quick read for anyone who is a fan or even for someone who isn't. Ed is a great lad.
