With every craft book, there are good things and bad things. It took me quite a while to read this book, not because I thought it was boring or because I found the information repetitive. I just... I don't currently have a lot of time on my hands. (Read: I don't use my time wisely.) This book has joined the ranks of one of my favorite craft books. Good, solid craft books are hard to find, at least for me. A lot of them have swearing for no reason or they add things that are questionable. I just... I don't currently have a lot of time on my hands. (Read: I don't use my time wisely.) This book has joined the ranks of one of my favorite craft books. Good, solid craft books are hard to find, at least for me. A lot of them have swearing for no reason or they add things that are questionable. This book had none of that. It was straightforward about Indie publishing and even gave tips on how to do everything by yourself. This is what I liked. Most craft books try to tell indie authors that they need to hire an editor, a cover designer, a formatter, a proofreader... do you hear the money slipping out of your wallet yet? This craft book said that, yeah, you might want to do all those things for the most professional result possible, but we're not all made of money, so you can do some things on your own. This is something I really liked about this book because it didn't go on and on about all the money I needed to spend. It showed me how to save money on publishing. There were lots of great tips for marketing, making an email list, building your own website, and all that fun stuff. While I found many spelling and grammatical errors in this book (because I'm the grammar police) I found this book helpful, refreshing, and a definite recommendation to anyone trying to make it in the indie world. Even better? It's free on kindle, so there's really no reason not to give it a try. I feel like I'm giving a sales pitch, so I think I'll stop it here. TL:DR - Great info for indie writers and authors -How to not have to spend all that money on your book -Ways to market your book so you can live off your book sales (because that's the dream, right?)

I am so chuffed that I purchased Lorna's book on writing and self-publishing. Not only did it give me the confidence to believe I can write a book, it changed my beliefs on self-publishing. Its a keeper and one I will return to as my guide when I finally finish a novel. With helpful tips on the whole complex process and links to other helpful guides on the craft its a great find. Lorna Faith thank you for putting a spark of hope back into my writing dreams.

A book full of good information There's a lot of good information in this book but for me there was also some not useful information. To name a few was the ISBN information since I don't plan on buying any for the ebooks I want to write and about Vellum (ect.). But for others that information may be useful.

Useful if you have not already read around a lot I found this book after I had already published and had read several other guides. The book is through but doesn’t contain any new information. If this is one of your first books on the subject I imagine you will find it very useful.
