I received an advanced copy of "The Business of You" by Lukas Krause through NetGalley. There are sections of book stores dedicated to career advice and personal development. The reason for this is because no path to success is the same, so gathering different perspectives on this subject can be beneficial to getting insight on what course of action to take. These books tend to be specific to one career field and give advice tailored solely based on the author's career trajectory. However, Krause I received an advanced copy of "The Business of You" by Lukas Krause through NetGalley. However, Krause gives a fresh take on how to pursue a fulfilling career and get to the job and career you want. His approach discusses how people should perceive themselves as a business, advice normally given to people who want to be entrepreneurs or social influencers. Yet, Krause makes a persuasive case for this and lays it out in subsequent chapters, asking the reader insightful and in-depth questions to consider about themselves aka their business relating to everything from their resume to confidence (something I see touched upon lightly in business books, here, an entire chapter is devoted to it). I would definitely recommend this book to everyone at every stage of his or her career. It is thought-provoking and ask for personal evaluations, almost like a therapy session in book form. The job market is changing constantly, so the way we present ourselves in the job field is crucial and I believe that if readers picks up Krause's book, they have made a substantial step towards achieving their career goals.
