No one believes that for a second.” He looked at her again and grinned. You are the dumbest of the dumb. She must be furious with you. Personally I’d hire someone to beat you up and then set you on fire. How could you? Someone tapped her on the shoulder. She turned and saw Jasper standing very close. He leaned in and kissed her on the lips— a sweet kiss that unexpectedly made her eyes burn. “Score!” he whispered. “I always wanted to kiss a girl in the library. It’s been a fantasy of mine since I was fifteen and had a thing for a girl named Bambi.” “Seriously? Bambi?” “I swear. She was so hot and she never noticed me.” “That’s her loss.” “I like to think so.” Then he was gone, continuing his library exploration. My Review: I was late to discover her brilliance but I am unashamed in confessing that I unabashedly adore the nimble raconteur known as Susan Mallery and want to read every word she ever scribbles. Her latest tale was a cleverly amusing small-town romance featured Renee and Jasper, two somewhat fractured and socially awkward people who viewed and avoided relationships like a virulent disease but had entered into a monogamous friends-with-benefits agreement as both realized their lives were lacking. They had an A+ rating for advanced chemistry although their mutual friendship developed slowly with fits and starts and several calamitous missteps. Their lives began to mesh until they had become considerably more than planned, but were they able to be more, and more of what would they be? The primary and most of the secondary characters were endearingly flawed and alluring as well as distinctly quirky. I enjoyed their snappy banter, clever levity, and humorous situations and sensual exploits, although I was quite beguiled by the considerable insight and thought that went into the profoundly perceptive details involving the myriad complications and peculiarities of wedding planning, which was Renee’s vocation and she was exceptionally good at it; as well as the absorbing tendency and capricious nature of the resilient Jasper’s writing process. Jasper was a best-selling author of thrillers and I can imagine just how much this crafty wordsmith enjoyed skewering her own foibles and muse.

2 - "Get over yourself…" Stars. I cannot remember the last time I was this disappointed by a book and if I am honest I would probably have DNF’d it if I hadn’t been anticipating Jasper getting his own book from the time I finished its predecessor Not Quite Over You, back in April. Jasper and Wynn’s Friends-with-benefits situation, played out and ended as a secondary story-line in that one, and I have to admit I was disappointed that the author didn’t see him and the single mother in the long-term 2 - "Get over yourself…" Stars. I cannot remember the last time I was this disappointed by a book and if I am honest I would probably have DNF’d it if I hadn’t been anticipating Jasper getting his own book from the time I finished its predecessor Not Quite Over You, back in April. Jasper and Wynn’s Friends-with-benefits situation, played out and ended as a secondary story-line in that one, and I have to admit I was disappointed that the author didn’t see him and the single mother in the long-term relationship bracket. I am even more so now though because I absolutely abhorred Renee Grothen, the two star rating for this book is purely for Jasper, because I would have happily ran over, backed up and ran over Renee several times by the time I had finished their story. "You’re stuck in the past when you have a wonderful man offering you the future… What more do you want?" I could go on and on about the numerous issues I had with her behaviour, attitude, treatment of Jasper and her mother. But I don’t want to waste any more time on her, and although there were one or two instances where there was a glimmer that she may not be as bad as all that, she swiftly and comprehensively did or said something worse than what she had done previously to the point I wanted one of the other women involved in the story, to punch/throttle (or a combination of the both) some sense into her. To then add insult the author decided to wrap everything up in a HEA that played out over about 5 pages at the end, absolute cop out in my opinion, and a huge disappointment in general. This is one book of the Happily Inc series, I will not be going back to Happily re-read again at some point in the future. I am hoping this isn’t the end of the series though because I have loved all the previous books and characters and would love to spend more time with them in their quirky town in the future. Please note that I received this book via NetGalley. This did not affect my rating or review. So this was a great romance by Mallery. I just found out she has a series called Happily Inc. that I just heard of it. This is the 5th book in the series. I have read her other series and now want to go back and read the beginning of this one. Readers also get a nice bonus of a short story starring a woman we find out is the adopted daughter of a Crown Prince in the Middle East. She falls for a man living in Happily Inc. Since this book already spoiled they are together though I didn't really need that story to be included. Also not going to lie, the whole secret princess or prince romance trope never has done a thing for me. So I finished it, but loved "Meant to be Yours" much more. "Meant to be Yours" follows wedding planner Renee and resident novelist Jasper. They have both seen each other around town, and Renee is hoping for a friends with benefits situation. She sees Jasper as wanting the same things she does, no ties, just banter, and hot times between the sheets. Of course things don't go according to plan. Renee has a lot of secrets and it takes about a good quarter of the book to reveal them all. At first I was laughing at the reveal and didn't think it made a lot of sense, but it actually worked. She has a good heart, but is scared about opening herself up again. And due to her mother's past, is reluctant to have anything to do with animals (yeah you have to read the book, no spoilers). Jasper is an ex-military policeman who is suffering from PTSD. He is now a best selling novelist and writes stories starring a detective tracking down serial killers. Jasper is in a fix though, he's supposed to end his series and his editor wants the main character married off or at least happy with someone. Trouble is that Jasper can't write women. At all. When he and Renee gets involved he gets some tips from her and I did laugh at him watching "women movies and tv shows" and that he reads Rory Gilmore for filth. Sorry, that whole part of the book had me laugh out loud. What I did like besides the romance scenes was that there is a lot of development into these two characters and the rest of the town. We actually get Jasper doing something pretty crappy to Renee and apologizing and sincerely apologizing. We also get a behind the scenes look at weddings and unlike with the Nora Roberts series dealing with that, I wasn't bored to tears and wanting to wring people's necks because of all of the stupid acronyms they used. The writing was really good and I would say that this book after ten years or so is going to read as dated since it mentions a lot of events and pop culture moments. Not going to lie though the Rory Gilmore things, still awesome. The flow was great though it felt like we were galloping towards a finish that I would have been fine if it took a bit longer. The setting of Happily Inc. sounds great and like a fun little town. The ending was sweet and as I said though the rest of the book shows Cade and Bethany's story which I had zero interest in. And it felt rushed compared to this one.

She works hard at making sure everything is as perfect as possible for such a memorable day for every couple. As happy as she is for each of the couples, she believes that marriage is never to be in her future. Jasper Dembenski is a successful suspense novelist who has managed to make a comfortable life for himself in Happily Inc. Jasper had severe PTSD when he left the Army and still feels he is broken and unable to have any type of permanent relationship. When the two are seated together on game night at The Boardroom, there is an attraction that surprises them both. Neither is looking for permanent, but can they have a no strings fling? Renee soon becomes the inspiration for the female character that Jasper needs to add as a love interest in his book. As he writes and learns about his female character, he learns about relationships and his own life. Maybe he is not as broken as he believes. Renee may seem to have it all together, but she has a lot of secrets in her past that have shaped how she relates to her present. Is she willing to take a leap of faith and put her heart on the line one more time? I read this book in one day. I was so engrossed in finding out how Ms. Mallery was going to take two people who believed they would never have a HEA for themselves and give them their HEA together. This romance has more H/h character development than most intertwined with realistic dialogue and sex scenes while also keeping you entertained with secondary characters and the weddings happening at Weddings Out of the Box. I felt empathy with Jasper right away, but it took finding out the secrets in Renee’s past for me to understand her and how she was emotionally damaged. Renee’s mom, Verity was a wonderful secondary character and I enjoyed how she interacted with all the people, pets and animals in Happily Inc. I always know I will be engaged and entertained when I read a Susan Mallery romance. This is another heartfelt addition to the Happily Inc series.

2.5 stars I’ve enjoyed most of these books, so I couldn’t help but request this one. I liked Renee and Jasper well enough. They’re both good people and I feel like that is the best thing I can say. The inner monologue from both of them is little bland and the chemistry was non-existent. I did love Renee’s mom, even if that thread was sort of ridiculous. Plot wise, it was okay. I loved the addition of the pets and the weddings are always a fun aspect. My main complaint is that the story didn’t feel fully developed to me. There were several pointed mentions of her getting sick towards the end of the story and then nothing. The conflict wasn’t really there and the ending was very abrupt. I didn’t expect it at all because the page count says 464 and the e-arc was at the end at 70%. Maybe it’s missing something? He wants to add a different character to his very successful series. What better way than to use Renee's business and clients as his research outlet. This is where Renee's kindness stops. Oh yes, she is very attracted to Jasper. If he wants to get closer, she is all for that. But, for him to set foot on her sacred ground - that of making the wedding day the best it could possibly be for those involved - she balks. Renee really wasn't looking for her own happily ever after. But, Jasper just might be "the one". However, after his years in the military, Jasper hardly thinks he is long-term material. Furthermore, as things progress, Jasper makes a serious faux pas. That added a nice level of conflict in this romance. I haven't had the chance to read the previous four titles in this series. No worries though. This book did perfectly fine as a standalone. Nonetheless, I am more than eager to go back to the beginning to see how the other couples in the lovely town found love. Meant to be Yours was a delightful story. I enjoyed watching this couple overcome their obstacles, especially with Jasper giving himself a chance at love. With regard to Renee, she had something serious that she was keeping close to her vest. Although it took time, it was wonderful to see how she handled that as she drew closer to Jasper. This enjoyable romance included in this book is a brief story of one of the characters in the book. That was a touching story as well. Many thanks to Harlequin and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.

Renee Grothen plans weddings at Weddings in a Box and knows that marriage and love aren’t for her. When she finally meets thriller author Jason Dembenski she’s nervous because she’s fantasized about the handsome man many times and now he’s right in front of her. Jason Dembenski has also made Happily Inc his home since his car broke down here and found the town to his liking. Renee catches his interest too and once they establish a just sex fling, they find themselves doing everything but that. When he situates himself in a client’s wedding plans, she has to accept that he’s becoming a fixture in her life, and tries to deal with it without much fuss. Jason finds himself drawn to Renee for help and then realizes she’s become a muse for his present manuscript. Are Renee and Jason to move out of their comfort zones and look for something more? Jason came to Happily, Inc feeling broken after his stint in the military and now with PTSD lives on the fringes. He treats women well but its only sex and nothing more. Somehow being with Renee is different. He needs to incorporate a woman character in his present work and she helps him see the feminine point of view. Renee herself has a scarred past and has definitely left her with a mindset that love isn’t in her future. Jason clumsily points out that she’s letting fear stand in her way. Though she didn’t take it well at first, she knew she had a choice to make. When they both realize that fear is standing in their way to happiness, the both come to a happily conclusion that love can work if they are willing to try. Meant to be Yours is a great mixture of a budding romance along with the daily life of Happily Inc. It was an enjoyable story filled with drama, fun, and peculiar antics that only happen in Happily Inc. It’s always good to catch up with the other couples and find out how they are all getting along. Susan Mallery has a way of creating such wonderful towns and very likeable and relatable characters, it’s such a treat to read her stories. This story is another feather in her cap and a delightful addition to the series. Review copy provided for a voluntary review.

I liked the friendship aspect to the story, the women were there for Renee, the men for Jasper - and that was something new for him, now he has friends to turn to. And the love story is sweet. I wasn't so enamoured by the wedding planning business. How many ways to add zest to a wedding! What's wrong with plain ordinary!  However this town has certainly found a way to form a community and make a living which is great.

Their agreement to have a monogamous benefits only type friendship without emotion is settled into fairly quickly and then Jasper’s need to research the wedding planning business for his next book throws them together frequently. The two are no doubt meant for one another but seem to have blinders on or minds shut down to the idea of “more” - found that a bit strange, actually. People from previous books (I have not read) made appearances so those invested in the series will enjoy seeing them all again. The book does not require reading previous books to make sense. What I liked about the book: * Learning more about wedding planning * The animals * Jasper – sometimes a bit clueless but always willing to ask for help * Renee – most of the time though she could be snippy and abrupt at times when deTaling with jasper * The animals * Verity – Renee’s mother – what an interesting “gift” she had What I did not like: * The Bridezilla * The times Renee seemed to overreact to events/words that should not have triggered such emotions Did I enjoy this book? Even though she spends her life creating memorable days for happy couples, she has sworn off marriage and serious relationships. Enter Jasper Dembenski, a novelist who began writing as a way to combat PTSD. After five years, he is comfortable in his life on the mountain just outside Happily Inc. He has recently acquired a older dog, Koda, and is relatively happy. With all his scars, he feels he is too broken for a serious or permanent relationship. It seems that Renee and Jasper are perfect for each other. A friends with benefits type of relationship to suit them both. As they get to know each other better, their feelings grow stronger. Will they be able to share their secrets and hurts from their past? Will they get over the fear of commitment? I really enjoyed this book, and read it in one day while the rain poured down outside. I knew there would be a HEA, but I had to idea how they would get there. I enjoyed the whole story. There was a lot happening with Jasper writing his book and needing help, all the goings on at Weddings Out of the Box, Renee's mom and her special gift, and all the wonderful characters that form the friendships in Happily Inc. I loved the character of Jasper. From the moment he decided to take Koda home after finding him abandoned and starving to learning about his past, I wanted him to have a happy relationship beyond just a few months. Renee could be annoying at times. I understood her feelings about her mother's gift, but her fear seemed a bit irrational to me and I am glad she got over it. The dialogue was very realistic and well-written. It seemed right from the start that these two needed each other and were fated to get together. Their "disagreements" were always entertaining and it never took them long to realize they were wrong and make up. There was some intimacy in the story, but it was brief and not graphically described which I liked. Overall, this was a wonderful story of second chances, romance, acceptance, friendship and taking chances. I also loved that the novella written between books 2 & 3 included in the back which is the story of one of the friends in town. I definitely recommend this one to lovers of romance. The publisher generously provided me with a copy of this book upon request. The rating, ideas and opinions shared are my own.

Just off a book tour and working on a new book, when he meets Renee, she becomes something of an inspiration for him. Both of them are cynical about love, but together could that change? Thank you to NetGalley and Harper Collins for the opportunity to read and review this book. This is the first book I have read by Susan Mallery even though I have had her books on my TBR for quite a while now. Meant to Be Yours is book number five in the series, but it's not a series that you have to read in order. Although, being the person I am, I'm going to go back and start from the beginning. Happily Inc is a small town, with big business in the wedding industry. Each book in the series, tells the story about another couple meeting and falling in love in this town. Renee and Jasper each have pasts that they would like to forget, but without it, they wouldn't be the people they are today. But it has scarred them from finding love. Will all of that change when they get together? Renee is pretty secretive about her past, every man she has loved has left her and she isn't going to let that happen again. She will guard her heart until the very end. Jasper was broken after his time in the military. His friends believe that he is pretty much put back together, although he can't believe that. This book pulled me in from the very beginning. With a few unexpected things that happened, it kept me invested until the very end. A quick enjoyable read!

I would read the series in order only because it reads better that way. Follow me on: https://www.facebook.com/RomancingThe... https://twitter.com/Romancingreader ARC received for an honest review

Renee's past makes her lean toward never getting married, she may work as a wedding coordinator but her future is groomless. The only problem with this is that she is attracted to Jasper a local author. She wouldn't mind doing the friends with benefits thing with him but isn't sure she can handle it in the end. Jasper doesn't think he is fit for a relationship, he has been damaged by years in the military and doesn't think he is whole enough for anyone. Renee really likes Jasper but is unable to deal with or get past hurts that happened years ago. Jasper has never felt like this before but doesn't think he'll ever be whole enough to move forward with anything but friendship. Will these to take the time to figure out just what the other needs? Can they both throw caution to the wind and give love a try? Will they let past hurts turn them away from love and its healing ways? This was such a wonderful romance between two people who both felt they couldn't leap into the love that so obviously surrounded them. Dive in and find out if they let love win or let it pass them both by. I received an ARC of this book, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

I digress, just a bit. But this story begins with a dog. In fact, poor Koda is the first person who comes into Jasper Dembenski’s life because they are meant to be his. And helps Jasper to heal enough – or to acknowledge the progress he’s made in his own healing enough – to allow Jasper to let Renee Grothen into his heart – by way of his bed. Or hers. Because they’re meant to be each other’s – even if it takes them both a while to figure that out. After all, Jasper believes that the things he experienced during his military service, and the PTSD the service left him with, have left him too damaged to deal with any relationship more complicated than friends-with-benefits, with as much emphasis on the benefits and as little on the actual friendship as his partners in those “relationships” are willing to tolerate. Renee is one of the wedding planners at Weddings Out of the Box, the themed wedding service venue owned and operated by Pallas Saunders Mitchell, the heroine of the series opener You Say it First (which, BTW was lovely and fun and charming and got me hooked on this series.) When it comes to weddings, Renee believes that those who can, do. And those who can’t become wedding planners. Her love life has been fairly disastrous, and she’s not interested in trying again. But a woman has needs. Needs that Jasper is more than willing to help her with. After all, men have needs too. In Jasper’s case, while he’s all in on the benefits of the friends with benefits relationship they enter into, Jasper also needs something else from Renee. Jasper is the best selling author of a long-running detective series. And that particular series needs to wrap up. Both Jasper and his editor are sure that what his loner of a detective (art imitates life) needs is to fall in love and find his HEA – or at least some purpose to his life besides catching serial killers. However, Jasper can’t figure out how to write a female character who is not either a serial killer herself or the victim of one. He needs to learn out how women think. So he turns to his friend Renee for help and advice. Thus the confirmed bachelor ends up shadowing the wedding planner to discover what makes women tick by observing them as they plan their weddings. And Jasper and Renee end up spending a lot of time together, fully dressed, in scenarios where they have to talk with each other in complete sentences. Not that they don’t still nearly screw everything up. But with the help of nearly every person in Happily Inc, Jasper’s dog Koda, Renee’s cats Fred and Lucille – and Renee’s mother Verity who understands what ALL the animals in town are thinking – they finally manage not to mess up their own HEA. Even if there are more than a few times when it feels like the entire situation is going to the dogs. Complete with pooper scooper. Escape Rating B+: Koda does come into Jasper’s life because Jasper needs him. Don’t get me wrong, the dog gets PLENTY out of the arrangement, but Koda does an especially good job of helping Jasper. Meanwhile, Fred and Lucille come into Renee’s life because they need her to help them get back together. And in spite of how many times Renee’s mother Verity’s gift for understanding what animals are thinking has caused Renee all kinds of grief, it’s Verity’s gift that allows Koda, Fred and Lucille to get their messages across. Obviously I fell into this particular book for the pets, and they are an important part of this story. Also, the giant dog wedding is a hoot! But as much fun as all of the animal interactions are, it’s the humans in this one who are involved in the romance. Even if that’s not what either of them thinks is happening at first. Especially if that’s not what either of them wants to happen, or thinks is even possible TO happen. The romance of this one is watching Jasper and Renee take two steps forward and sometimes three steps back on their road to a real relationship. At the beginning they are both certain that they are too broken for love or marriage – but having a regular sex partner is terrific. They become friends. Slowly and hesitatingly. And their friendship eventually manages to work because Renee calls Jasper on his shit and doesn’t back down until he both understands what he did wrong AND apologizes for it. His laser focus on his work and his tunnel vision in pursuing his vision of it does get him into trouble. Watching him work his way out of that trouble is fascinating. At the same time, one of the things that really worked for me in their relationship is the way that Renee accepts his need to completely concentrate on the work when it’s flowing. She doesn’t expect him to change who he is. He just needs to learn to not step on anyone else in his drive to get the story “right”. As much as I love the town of Happily Inc and this series, it was the portrayal of Renee that dropped the story from an A- to a B+. Let’s just say that I empathize with how hard Jasper found it to get inside her head because I had the same difficulty. I liked so much about her, but her fear of a relationship didn’t feel quite right, at least not based on the examples of where her previous relationships went wrong. The action and reaction didn’t feel quite proportionate – but YMMV. I did like the way their relationship built slowly, and by fits and starts. And I certainly loved seeing Jasper grovel when he needed to – and there were plenty of times when he needed to. But for this reader the animals stole the show and happily trotted away with it!

A fun book which depicted the romance between the wedding planner Renée and an author who was ex-military Jasper. Friends with benefits transformed to love. Reading a Susan Mallery after a long time, the story retained her trademark signs of humor and warm relationships. Both Kasper and Renée had their own pasts with secrets slowly getting revealed down the book. Jasper's PTSD was dealt with sensitively. Jasper needed the softer side to be written in the novel and the suggestions given by his friends had humorous results. Romance was a slow burn in its development and chemistry wtitten. The other characters added to the loving atmosphere of the book. Of note was Renée's mother, she was sweet and and her gifts were a wonder to read. I loved the inclusion of it in the story. The entire story was long and felt a bit slow, but had the sweetness of likable characters. Book 5 in the series, that didn't bother me as I was more involved with Renee and Jasper and their dog Koda. Overall, a sweet read which warmed the heart and put a smile on my face.

I thought that this was a very enjoyable read. Jasper and Renee were both charismatic characters. I liked the fact that neither one was perfect because that created an even playing field and it made them easy to connect with. The storyline was fun and it kept me entertained and actively rooting for this couple. I felt that their chemistry was good and I found it very easy to get invested in these imperfect people and the doubts that plagued them on the road from no strings to HEA. A good heart and a soft touch could be the key to happily ever after or spell the beginning of the end for two broken soulmates. Meant to be Yours is an emotional minefield. I was a little taken aback when I saw that this book was about Jasper and Renee, not Jasper and Wynn. But, I decided to trust the author and I'm glad I did. I hope that Wynn gets a book. She deserves some love.

I have read every book in this series. I have grown to know the people in this series. So, it is special when I read the latest book in this series. There are new people to meet while also visiting with old friends. Renee is a sweetie. I liked her right away. Not to say that Jasper was not nice as well. I just took a bit longer to warm up to him. Also, when it came to these two hooking up; I would have liked for them to get to know each other better and further into the story before they hooked I have read every book in this series. We get to see the job of a wedding planner and Susan Mallery must've attended several pre-planned weddings by a planner, her research for this book was funny, dramatic and well enjoyed. Renee, the wedding planner working with owner Palla', she meets Jasper, the ex military policeman who suffers from PTSD, and he is a best seller novelist in the town Happily Inc. His newest challenge is to write his last detective novel, but with a twist; to have a woman character who has a romantic endinghappy plot. Jasper cant describe women in love because he doesnt beleive in falling in love in real life. So he doesn't know what real women feel like falling in love with him. or vice versa. Renee and he meet and become the perfect match, she too doesnt want to fall in love with anyone. Somehow she and Jasper want to spend alot of time together...freinds with benefits relationship, including "a booty call" relationship.. Despite Renee's beleif in her own no romance beleif, she pulls off dream come true without disaster weddings for her clients. She has a phobia which makes it hard for her to be acquainted with jasper's abondoned new freind,Koda. This beloved dog finds Jasper at a much needed time in his life. This Happily Inc series introduces us to new characters, in form of animals.. Renee too finds two new freinds at the animal shelter. This Happily Inc series introduces us to new characters, in form of animals. Kuddos to Susan for introducing the need for animal rescue awareness, and people to adopt dogs and cats in animal shelters.I loved how she takes us into an animal shelter and the love these dogs and cats can give to human beings and be quite gentle.I know because I rescued a one yr old scared Lab puppy and she became my family's best freinds for 14 years. Jasper finds out Renees phobia with dogs. This is where we meet Renees unique mother, Verity. I won't spoil what makes her unique, but it was a trully interesting insight on her special skill that brings out the genuinely gift she has with animals.. This book has a good feel romance in it with new and old characters, and the town that grows in each book. I want to thank NetGalley and Harlequin-Romance for giving me the opportunity to review this book.

Yay, Harlequin for helping me understand this without having to binge read four books in a short amount of time! Second, I don’t know what it is, but I always chuckle when I have a main character that works in the realm of love that somehow believes that it wouldn’t apply to them at all. So imagine my surprise and inner giggle to myself when I rad the synopsis and found out that… low and behold! One of our main characters is a wedding coordinator, but somehow feels like she’s not meant to have a wedding of her own. Honestly, that sounds really tragic, but I get it. I got married and never had an extravagant wedding, or even a wedding at all. Does a courthouse wedding count? I wore a tie die dress specifically because I refused to wear white. Do I count as a rebel? I personally liked that this gave some of the spotlight to supporting characters from the previous books – from at least some of the other reviews that I read before reading this book – so that was cool! I like when authors do that, especially when some of the supporting characters are apparently cooler than the original MCs. I feel like this may have been the case, but I’ll have to read the other books prior to making that full determination. Since I’m not usually a romance person – but I’m doing my best to get more out there – I thought that this was a pretty nice example of a romance for not-romance people. If that makes sense. I didn’t feel like it was too sappy, and even though I may not know about everything that a wedding coordinator or an ex-military turned suspense author go through on a daily basis, I still felt like I was able to relate to some of their “regular” human habits and make it enjoyable for me. This also kind of made me want to have an actual wedding one day, or at least see if there’s a company that does “Weddings Out of the Box” like Renee does. I’m kind of intrigued now. But yes, definitely give this one a try, or even the whole series! I think it’s pretty cool. I like flings that turn into serious relationships. It brings back memories. **Thank you to Harlequin Presents for the photos as well!

The Summer of Sunshine and Margot was my first book of Susan Mallery's and it did not disappoint, so when I was offered the opportunity to read this fifth book in her Happily Inc. series, I jumped at the chance! As the story progressed I was introduced to more endearing, comical, and dynamic characters. Wedding planner Renee Grothen was strong, spirited, yet vulnerable. Renee’s mother, Verity brought so much comedic value to the story, as well as a very interesting and quirky gift that had me chuckling in amusement. When Jasper has difficulty working out how to write a woman character into his latest story, Renee becomes his inspiration in more ways than one. Neither wants a relationship or anything more due to their turbulent pasts, but will they settle on their non-relationship being enough? One of my favourite book tropes is witty banter and I definitely enjoyed the banter in this book. I was delighted and relieved when the relationships in Meant to Be Yours turned out to be refreshingly real. I loved the writing style of Susan Mallery and I really appreciated the satisfying and fulfilling ending. I thought this was a book of absolute brilliance and it would make a perfect addition on the bookshelf of anyone who loves their sweet romances with a soupçon of salt. I will definitely be reading more of Susan Mallery's books! I received a complimentary digital copy of this novel, at my own request, from Harlequin - Romance via NetGalley. Renee loves to organize themed weddings and is adept at handling problem situations. She and Jasper begin to get involved and enjoy the involvement as neither wants a serious relationship. But when she finds herself forced to have Jasper accompanying her at party organizations to try to write a female character for his next book, she didn't realize that those meetings would become more than mere research and great sex. With light and fun writing, Susan Mallery creates a sweet story about fresh starts, strength, overcoming, and of course love. I really liked the history with the presence of the characters from previous books and cute pets. I just found Renee's reaction a little rude at the crucial moment of the plot since her own mother had already overcome the ghosts of the past and she is the cause of Renne's trauma . I liked this book - the romance was cute but the writing was not as smooth as the Summer of Sunshine and Margot. They got into their little arrangement within the first 10 pages of the book - they met and pretty much went to your place or mine? I wished there was a bit more development. Renee is kind of annoying - she gets mad easily and leaves abruptly and then Jasper is left to grovel his way back into her life. It's still a light and easy romance though!

I am a big fan of Ms. Mallery and I enjoy each book more than the last but…this story? OMG, both main characters will grab your heart and will not let go. How these misfits get to be a family is touching and sweet and sexy and fun and SO very special. Lots of characters from previous books pop in – no worries, this is a standalone story – and even Millie the giraffe has a walk-on. So much fun! I really loved this story, want to spirit away Jasper, Koda, and Renee, and just watch how their lives unfold. Highly recommend this story.

A few pages into this book I was thinking it was going to be my favorite in all the series so far. But...halfway through the story things changed. If you haven't read the previous books, than I recommend you to do that first, as some of them are way better than this one.
