From scrapped knees to nights in Paris, but when he comes back into her life and back to Jackson Harbor, she wants nothing to do with him. At least she tries to. Which would be fine if Easton wasn’t dead set on getting back the woman he reluctantly walked away from too many times. This story kind of jumps back and forth from the past to the present, so that you see Shay and Easton’s story from multiple points in time. Most of their issue is that timing was never right for them, but there are also outside forces and circumstances that stop these two from having each other. It’s a rollercoaster of a ride, and some of the angst/drama feels a bit soap opera level, but it’s a great read none the less. At the end of the day this story is about love, friendship, and family. That’s why I’ve loved this series and I’m sad to see it come to an end, but also If it’s only Love was the perfect way to close it out. https://instagram.com/p/B131ZyxA7XI/ ^fan edit on IG! Lexi Ryan has this ability to rip my heart out of my chest, stomp it into a million pieces, put it back and leave me smiling with tears running down my face. And the Jackson Harbor series has been nothing short of perfect. This story was complicated and angsty and heartbreaking in all the ways only life can be. Everything was messy and nothing played out like I wanted but it was so real I couldn't help but love it. Shay was such a great character and I really wanted her to get the happily ever after she had been waiting her whole life for but watching her hit every bump with so much grace and understanding just made her perfect. And as much as I loved Easton and Shay it was awesome to catch up with the brothers and their beautiful other halves. And I am so hoping that we are going to get another book in this series just to catch up with the crew because I could never get enough. Now I have to try get out of this book coma and get back to real life. Because seriously that book has me so sucked in that I hardly slept and I picked it up as soon as the kids were dropped off at school. And my mind doesn't want to settle on anything but Jackson Harbor.

damn ... ya'll ... i mean dayum! There is one thing you can always count on when you pick up a Lexi book ... consistency. I’m not entirely sure it’s not her fault I’ve been banned from reviewing on Amazon LOL But I digress. I wanted to put this tidbit in my review because as much as I love her, sometimes I hate her and want to slap her senseless. Man, she just does not make it easy on her characters. NEVER!! One time I’d like to pick up a Lexi book and just … I dunno what, but maybe not have to take anxiety pills *shrug* But I do love how real and relatable she makes her stories. These men and woman that she creates are just a touch away. Their lives and their circumstances are right here right now and honestly most times do not even feel like fiction to me. That’s her thing right there. When you read her stories, you’ll more than likely think … Jesus, that could be me. AND IT IS GLORIOUS!! Shay and Easton … damn do they have bad timing or what?! #JesusSaveMeFromTheseTwo lol But you know what? Can it really be bad timing if all the years they spent like two ships passing in the night, if it allowed them to grow independently to become the people they needed to be for each other in the present? Everything happens for a reason they say … Their history made for one of the most poignant second, third, maybe fourth, okay fifth time to get it right! Their story is not a simple story. It’s an intricate maze of circumstances and life events. It’s complicated and messy and filled with so much hope it will have you reading for hours on end because you just can’t wait to see what happens next. It’s full of heart and growth and family and love. It is amazing !!

Wow! This is the book where it takes a slow progress to really in love with the story. During the first 20%, i hate this book due to eston. He was a shallow full of shit that kind of hero. This was exactly the kind of book I needed to end my summer! It was juicy and delicious, ANGSTY and sexy, the push and pull was EVERYTHING, and ooooh my word was it SWEET. This couple has YEARS of baggage behind them, a boatload of complicated heartache between them, and a road of impossibility ahead of them. Their history SLICED and DICED my heartstrings and things only get harder when the former NFL player moves home to Jackson Harbor, to his hometown, to his old friends, to his best friend's little sister, the one that got away. But through it all their longing, their devotion, their desperation is a palpable entity that reaches right out and suffocates the reader. There's so many feelings, so many twists in their story and it's the sweetest form of agony watching it all play out. This story was RELENTLESS in its emotional barrage to the heart. Just when things seem like MAYBE they can finally fall into place, they instead fall apart. It hurt so good and I wanted to devour every single delicious bit of angsty goodness.  This series is a must read. Each Jackson sibling has their own complicated story to tell, but within each interconnected standalone there's this undeniable common denominator: that family is EVERYTHING. Shay and Easton take that message and ratchet it up several notches by proving that it's not blood that makes a family but unconditional love, steadfast commitment and selfless sacrifice. It's so beautiful, often heartbreaking, sometimes infuriating, but always WORTH IT. This series and this book are a MUST!

Wow. I'm a bit speechless. The drama. The angst. The baggage that Easton and Shay brought to their long relationship. Is love ever enough? It was a long complicated journey for these two to finally communicate and get their acts together and get on the same page but it was worth the wait even though it was a bit exhausting for me. Every time I thought, ok, this is it, there was another twist or complication! Shay must've gone through everything a romance heroine could possibly go through...jeez, give this lady her HEA already! But I enjoyed the whole crazy romance--what a payoff for this series! 5 stars Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for providing an ARC of this book.

    Nerdy Dirty & Flirty

This newest book in the Jackson Harbor series was once again an amazing read by Lexi Ryan. Shay's story was a highly anticipated one for me. I've been interested in the only girl of the Jackson siblings from the beginning. But I wasn't prepared for just how emotional this second chance romance would be. It wasn't like a gut wrenching kind of angst. It was this crazy journey of two people who've loved each other practically their whole lives, but their timing just never seems to be right. The only thing I didn't love about this was the back and forth between past and present/now. I get why it was written that way, but I also kind of wish I could have just gotten their story in the order of events. However I know that's a personal preference. It didn't take away from how great this story was. It didn't make me love Shay or Easton any less. It is definitely a story I'm so happy to have finally gotten. And I think I will want to revisit Jackson Harbor again in future.

If It's Only Love is the sixth book in the Boys of Jackson Harbor, after all her brothers it's finally Shay's romance. I really enjoyed it, Shay and Easton are a second, pardon third chance love and oh boy, all the angst and tension between us was top tier. Blood isn't family and this book was a proof of that. Easton and Shay's history was so heartbreaking. The reasons for them being apart were pretty good ones, but he could have handled it better. I really enjoyed this story and seeing how hard Easton worked to show Shay how he felt. It just missed 5 stars for me because I did fell that there was a bit too many obstacles for them. Clear communication would have helped. Loved the epilogue!

I love childhood friends to lovers and second chance romances. Thrown in a little love/hate and you get this book. The one I’ve been waiting for since the beginning of the series, Shaleigh(Shay) Jackson. Shay had me right when I was first introduced too her. I knew she had some, but a few times it broke my heart a little bit to hear her talk about herself like that. Still Shay is the nerdy girl who is drop dead gorgeous, but she never sees herself that way. Enter Easton Connor that boy she has loved since she was a little girl. Though there is four years age difference it didn't stop Shay from wanting Easton to notice her. But would he notice the frumpy, brainy tagalong little sister? Easton is Shay's brother's best friend. Easton is the hometown football star who just made it too the NFL. He is living Jackson Harbor for LA and is leaving behind his second family and the girl who seems to calm his anxiety, Shay. He knows that she is Carter's little sister, but she is the brightness in his dark sometimes. She isn't a little girl anymore and he has never thought of her as a sister. Nope she's been the one that he's wanted for quite a few years, but she's been too young until she isn't anymore. Easton knows he's leaving and knows that he can't offer her anything, but friendship even though he desires more from her. However, through the years they have secretly had a few encounters and the timing wasn't right, and life moves on. Things seem to pull both Easton and Shay in different directions. Fast forward twelve years and Easton is back home to get the girl. Will he convince Shay that she means more to him that she thinks? Will Shay forgive him for the past? These two together just slammed into me. I loved Shay. She is a girl who goes after what she wants, but lately she's been drowning with decisions for the future. Now that Easton is back, her mind and heart are all over the place. Easton is not going to give up on Shay. He knows he has a lot to make up for, but he wants her and is determined. They have intense chemistry that jumped at me, some very steamy moments and of course there are a few heartbreaking moments between them. I loved this series and I hope it is not the last of this family. I want to be a Jackson. I can't say enough about the series. It has suspense, it has funny moments, it has angst, and it hits the buttons on the steam factor. Each book is a standalone, but I recommend reading them all in no particular order. They all have their own spin and fantastic storyline. If It's Only Love was a beautiful story about forgiveness, and finding what makes you happy. It has a few moments that as a women you will definitely relate too. This might be one of my favorites in the series just because it was Shay and I understood her. I highly recommend this!! What she didn't realize is that he was just as attracted to her but knew she was too young at the time. Then he is leaves to play professional football and becomes fairly famous. His love life with other women is plastered in the tabloids. Obviously not everything is true, but how is Shay to distinguish fact from fiction. Shay moved forward with her own life, or tried to. Of course at different points, Easton always seemed to float back in when she needed him. Even if it was only for a night. Let's just say that Easton was not your typical NFL player. He was trying to be the best man that he could be. He didn't always succeed but he was always trying even to the point of sometimes sacrificing his own happiness. Shay and Easton's love story seems to be a series of unfortunate events, misunderstandings and a lot of bad timing. Through it all, her brothers never had a clue there had been anything between them. Talk about being able to keep secrets like Fort Knox. Even though at times, this story was high on the angst and drama meter, I loved every single second. It kept me reading until the very last page. I simply had to know if Shay and Easton could ever work things out. Would fate ever work in their favor? If you're a fan of best friend's little sister, second chance, sports romance or friends to lovers, this book truly has a little bit of it all plus even more. It was truly such a good read. This is Shayleigh Jackson ( the only sister of the 5 Jackson brothers) and single dad Easton Connor’s story. Returning to live in Jackson Harbor with his daughter, Easton cannot wait to be immersed in the lives of those he loves the most, the Jackson family and if fate allows him, to earn another chance with the woman he has always loved, Shay. The chemistry between Easton and Shay is off the charts and I had many swoon worthy moments with Easton. The drama and angst is real and the tension, heartache and healing was palpable. This was a well written story of love, friendship, family and second chances, of taking a leap of faith and of believing in yourself. I loved Easton and Shay and found them easy to relate to as I did the secondary characters. Can Easton and Shay get over the mistakes of the past and in doing so finally get the happily ever after together that they deserve? One click and find out.

I loved watching their story unfold from when they were teenagers and throughout their lives. The story is past and present and you really do get a feel for how close these two were and how much they truly love each other. Their chemistry is felt throughout and the sexy scenes are pretty steamy. Can Shay and Easton find their way back or is there too much hurt? Will Shay stay in her relationship or give it up for him? Can what they had when they were younger still be built on now that they are adults? Definitely a great addition to this series!!

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. This book is okay. I haven't read all the previous books in the series so I would say you don't have to have read the series in order, that said there are previous characters and couples from previous books who appear and they all are attending a wedding so it would make sense to read the series in order. The story for me has too much drama, I'm a fan of second chance romance and couples overcoming issues to be together but there are so many things going on it felt like it was too much. I'll list This book is okay. I'll list some later so that's why I've marked this review as having spoilers. The original troupe is best friends little sister so this means they are in each other lives before they get together. The heroine initially as she is younger has to witness his various girlfriends. Later they are both with several other people before they get together when the heroine is 30. The Hero is famous so some of his relationships are in the tabloids. The Hero hears news of the heroine when he visits family or see her brother, his friend. They also text each other, see each other across the years and have conversations at times about progress of relationships etc. That said there is no intimate details of anyone other than the Hero and heroine. Now and then chapters, flashback. The heroine has a sort of boyfriend when the Hero returns, the Hero kisses her, she pushes him away, the Hero didn't know at that point she was seeing someone. Now for the drama... Spoilers below..... The heroine is the sister of the Hero's friend. Forbidden territory. The heroine finds out the man she is dating is married and she's the 'other woman.' I thought this was a shame, why did he have to be a cheat, why couldn't she just have felt it wasn't going to work. The Hero finds out his girlfriend, not the heroine is pregnant with his baby. He doesn't want his child growing up without a dad in it's life. Turns out the baby isn t his. They don't divorce as they find out the child has cancer. The heroine finds out she's pregnant and it's not the Hero's, it's the cheating ex's. During their history they are at the pinnacle of getting together but one of these mega drama things happens and it stops them. One or two would have worked but with the deck stacked so high maybe they are doomed to be apart. HEA. Epilogue. ARC.

5 “Short stack” Stars If It’s Only Love is the sixth and final book in The Boys of Jackson Harbor series. And finally we get Shayleigh’s book. Shay is the only sister of the five Jackson brothers and her story is the one I was most anticipating. And oh boy, it was so worth the wait. Shay grew up surrounded by boys and one in particular was her brother’s older best friend. Easton was four years older than her and was definitely off limits. Shay is the only sister of the five Jackson brothers and her story is the one I was most anticipating. And oh boy, it was so worth the wait. Shay grew up surrounded by boys and one in particular was her brother’s older best friend. Easton was four years older than her and was definitely off limits. But it didn’t stop Shay from having a crush on him and watching him from afar. On the night that Easton gets drafted to the NFL, something happens that makes Shay think that maybe there’s a chance that he feels the same way she does. And it turns out it’s only the beginning of heartaches and also the start of not the right timing being on their side. Easton has always wanted one thing, and that’s playing in the NFL. He thought that if he didn’t have football, he didn’t have anything. But he was wrong, because there was something else he wanted, more like someone. Easton knew that liking his best friends younger sister would be complicated, but he couldn’t stop the feelings he had for her. He also couldn’t predict the missed opportunities and the amount of longing and sorrow there would be. Shay and Easton have been through a lot. From the very first innocent touch that started their whirlwind of emotions. But life and timing have a way of getting in the way and ultimately they played a crucial part in Shay and Easton’s lives. Shay and Easton have ten years’ worth of hurdles to get through. It won’t be easy, but if they can get it right this time everything they’ve been through would’ve been worth it. If It’s Only Love is a beautiful and emotional second chance romance. It’s a story of love, heartache and healing. Shay and Easton’s story is one I wasn’t expecting, but it was everything I could’ve hoped for. I’m going to miss them just as much as I’m going to miss all the other characters. It’s sad to say goodbye to Jackson Harbor and this lovable family, but what a ride it was. *I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book*

3.5 stars Review by Jen Skewes Shay and Easton have a history together, one that started when they were kids. He is best friends with her brother and close with her family. Shay has always had a crush on Easton. At some point Easton realizes that Shay is all grown up and his feelings for her start to change. Until one night when things go a little farther 3.5 stars Review by Jen Skewes Shay and Easton have a history together, one that started when they were kids. He is best friends with her brother and close with her family. Shay has always had a crush on Easton. At some point Easton realizes that Shay is all grown up and his feelings for her start to change. But knowing what his future holds and that she is off limits, being she’s his best friend’s sister, he tries to keep his feelings to himself. Until one night when things go a little farther than they should. Easton has been drafted to the NFL and he is moving across the country to live out his dream. While he is living the life he has dreamed of, that means laving Shay behind. Over the years they are tried to make a relationship work but it only left Shay with a broken heart. Easton hurt her one too many times. So, when he comes back to town for good, she needs to protect her heart once again. Easton is retired and is moving back to his hometown. He knows that he has screwed up in the past, when it comes to Shay, but now the timing is right. He is all in when it comes to her. She is the one that got away and he is not going to lose her again. But there are many obstacles in his way. For one, the hurt her and she has a hard time forgetting that. Not to mention her current relationship status. Can Easton prove to Shay that he is in this with her forever and that she is the only woman he wants and loves? I really loved this series and could not wat for Shay’s story. I love a second chance, friends to lovers, story, but there seemed to be so much more to this story. Shay and Easton were great together and you could see that whenever they were together. They had chemistry and a closeness that is what made them perfect for each other. I enjoyed their story but at the same time I had a hard time with it. We go back and forth to the past, slowly leading up to the present, finding out what really happened between them. I think that there was so much that happened, to the point that it was too much. There is also one part of the story that I am honestly not sure if it even fit or made sense. I loved the end and loved Easton’s reaction to one particular “issue” that they faced. All though maybe not his initial reaction but in the end. But at the same time, I wondered if it should have happened that way. It’s hard to explain without spoiling it, so I will just leave it at that. I also wanted more of them and the emotional side of their relationship. Overall I did enjoy it and loved the characters, loved the Jackson family and how close they are. But some things were just too much for me.

If It’s Only Love is the 6th book to The Boys of Jackson Harbor series and this book is Shayleigh’s story. I went into this as a stand-alone, which it is, but I think I may have gotten more of a feel for the characters if I had started from book one, but with that said, it wasn’t any less amazing and it didn’t take me much to get into the story, but I will be going back and starting the series from book one after reading this gem! Easton and Shay story was epic! It’s their third chance at love with each other and these two have baggage upon baggage. But to see them come together again and fall helplessly in love with each other was beautiful, but they didn’t do it without struggle. I love sports romances, they’ve become a guilty pleasure of mine and this book marked every box with a tick! It had humor, passion, lust, love, heat, angst, and unexpected twists, it was deep but it was a book that I was at ease with reading. It was a mixture of all and balanced out just perfectly! The author knows how to write characters that’ll have you fallen for them within a chapter, and a couple that you can’t help but cheer for... and Shay and Easton were just that and as the book progressed, the more that push and pull between these two increased and I am a sucker for all things angsty. I loved how this third chance relationship developed! It was extremely well written and will be a book I’ll come back and re-read again in the near future!

***ARC Provided by the Author via NetGalley*** Easton and Shayleigh have a long history, and it's the kind of history that makes for a great second chance story. It's full of romance, of missed opportunities, of 2nd chances, and star-crossed lovers. It's a 2nd chance, or really a 3rd or 4th chance for the characters, and while there have been reasons that they wouldn't work in the past, the relationship seems that it actually might work this time. Maybe. Yes, there are still things in their way, but this time, Easton is all in, and he is in Jackson Harbor to get rid of one of the issues, them living in different cities. There's such a connection between them, and it's there, and it's strong from the very first time you see them together. It's one of those connections that make you wonder why it hasn't worked out yet. But, then you learn what has happened to them, and why they are not able to get together. All of the flashbacks work, and they draw them together and make their relationship into something incredibly strong, and with this strength you believe in the relationship. So, why the 3 stars? I can't say here. It's not because I don't know, as I do. But, it's a spoiler. And, while it worked for the story and I believed the resolution around it, I didn't love it. And, I know this doesn't make a lot of sense, but there's just not a way to explain this without going into the thing that happened that I didn't love and didn't totally work for me. There's not really anything else I can say as I don't want to ruin the story for others. Overall, I did enjoy this title and I do recommend it.

Wow how many times can a couple nearly get together and circumstances keep them apart? This couple really went through the mill and whilst ayou can understand all the choices they made they could have made different ones but then it would have been a really short story! I loved Shay and Easton together and seeing glimpses of the past. As a reader we do get a HEA but I must admit I wanted an epilogue a bit further in future. The drama in this one drove me nuts. I really liked Easton at first, loved that he was smitten with Shay and really saw her. Sadly he didn't treat her like she deserved, the going back and forth in the past was too much for me to really believe that in the present he was really in it to win Shay. And Shay, the queen of bad decisions seemed to keep making them. I knew what was going on with her professor right away. While reading this series, I've always felt like Jackson Harbor would be a place that could feel like home. If It's Only Love brought back that feeling and made me very happy. I love this setting and places like this make me want to move and live there. Once I started reading If It's Only Love I couldn't stop. Part of the reason I love it so much is the way it's set up I think. This book is split up in parts and swtiches between the past and present. That made me connect with this story so much more! Shay is a smart girl. Even though she hasn't always been happy with her body, she's definitely gotten some more confidence. I think I connected with Shay the most, because of her love of books. Mentioning reading Harry Potter and she definitely scored points with me. Shay is a hard worker and has devoted a lot of her time and energy for her degrees. Easton has been a part of the Jackson family since he was younger. He's been friends with one of the brothers and basically all of the family knows him well. Easton loves sports and even played for the NFL professionally for some years. I liked him from the start. He's definitely more sensitive and very caring! The feelings and connection between Shay and Easton isn't something new and has been going on for years. Every once in awhile they give in to their feelings and are together for a night. These moments made me smiling, but also broke my heart when they weren't able to get their happily ever after. Seeing them so many years later when Easton moves back brought so many more feelings. I'm a big fan of second chance romances and even people just finding each other again. If It's Only Love is definitely fille with some angst and things don't always go smoothly, but that makes it so worth it! The events we read about between past and present takes you on an emotional roller coaster ride. I loved these characters and just wanted them to end up together. Once again, this author gave us a book that makes you laugh, cry, get angry and just want a happily ever after. Add some steamy scenes and this romance is complete. On top of that, the characters we've come to know and love are in some way a part of this story as well. I love reading about them after reading their story! I'm sad this is the last book, but all of them were amazing! I hope Lexi Ryan writes more books like this in the future!

Disclaimer: I received an Advance Reader Copy at no cost from the publisher/author. All opinions in my review are my own. What an excellent end to a wonderful series! It had the perfect mix of angst and sweetness and has an underlying theme that family is everything. The storyline follows a second chance romance formula. (Though it's really more of a third chance romance in this book's case.) The timing has never been quite right for Shay and Easton and complications always seem to arise. (Though it's really more of a third chance romance in this book's case.) The timing has never been quite right for Shay and Easton and complications always seem to arise. I really loved that they both had a history with each other. Easton is Shay's older brother's best friend and they have known each other since they were children. The reader can really sense the deep connection that stems from such history. I liked that the story switches from past to present so that the reader can get a sense of their history. Shay and Easton's story is one that will pull you in. These characters were so easy to relate to. It was unbelievable easy to forge a connection to them. Shay is eas to love. She is a go-to type of girl that is loyal and smart. She did have some insecurities but they made her character seem that much more real. Easton is a very driven character. Football is the one thing that he wanted in life other than Shay. Even with his faults, underneath it all Easton is a great guy. Shay and Easton's journey is one that is filled with heartache and struggle. They have a lot of hurdles to overcome. Their deep history and connection really made their romance a believable one. They had intense chemistry and I was rooting for them hardcore. Overall, this is a beautiful story about love and healing. A beautiful story about finding happiness. This is a story that blends many tropes- best friend's little sister, second chance romance, sports romance, and friends-to-lovers romance. If you are a fan of any of these tropes then you'd love this book. I definitely recommend this heartfelt story! More reviews on my blog: Novel Nerd Faction

"You try to keep hating me, but you lose your grip on it when I get close, so I wonder what would happen if I got closer." I recently discovered the word wizardry of Lexi Ryan. So, even though this is the 6th book in The Boys of Jackson Harbor series, I read it as a standalone. And in case you are wondering, yes, after meeting the other characters I want to read their stories as well. I really loved the big family dynamic and the sibling banter is very entertaining. And in case you are wondering, yes, after meeting the other characters I want to read their stories as well. I really loved the big family dynamic and the sibling banter is very entertaining. The author tells the story in an alternating past/present style that really pulled me in. I saw them fall for each other as kids who were unable to do anything about their feelings. They were drawn to each other and developed a strong friendship that lasted years, but the desire for more was something they kept to themselves... along with the pain. Is there such a thing as a third-chance-romance? Yeah, Easton blows it with Shay more than once. I don't blame her for giving him the cold shoulder when he eventually comes back and tries to win her over after breaking her heart twice before. But, that chemistry between them is as strong as ever. "Why is that? Why do I feel him when he's around, even after all these years?" I can't deny that I enjoyed the hell out of their decade long love-hate relationship. You know what they say about that fine line, right? I was their virtual cheerleader, hoping for them to finally see the light, tempted to throw my pom-pom upside their heads a time or two as I waited for the stars to align. It was exhausting and exhilarating as I yearned for their love to find a way in spite of all the obstacles life kept throwing at them. I disagreed that, "—it's only love, and that's never been enough." I gnawed my nails to nubs, but turned the last page with a smile on my face.

Throughout the years Easton does come to her rescue and they have a connection that no one knows about, and one that means everything to Shay until it all falls apart and she wants nothing to do with him. Now Easton is back in town all these years later and all he wants is Shay back in his life. Watching Shay and Easton’s story play out both in the past and now was heart-breaking and beautiful all at the same time. I wanted them together so bad, but knew both of them had to get over the past, as well work through their current situations as well. Both of them can’t deny the feelings they have for one another, even if Shay is extremely stubborn, but so much is standing in their way, and I was on the edge of my seat watching their story play out. Easton and Shay’s book is full of emotions, and angst and I couldn’t put it down. I was never sure if they were going to make it, and if they would ever get their real chance at love. If anyone in this family, or in this town deserved it, it is definitely Shay after reading her book! If you love second chance romances, and books full of angst, I highly suggest one-clicking If It’s Only Love by Lexi Ryan today!

And now, only time will tell if the love they felt will be enough to survive time, forgive mistakes and heal hearts. What a fantastic ending to one of the series I loved the most in my life. My wish at the end of the reading was to shout out to the world, "Girls, find someone who loves you like Easton loves Shay, and don't settle for anything less." Easton is neither perfect nor infallible. He made his mistakes and had his share of bad decisions. But the respect he has for everything Shay is and everything she loves to the point of sacrificing himself so as not to confuse her and damage her future and career is commendable. Shay has suffered a lot in the past. And the present can still bring her many surprises and disappointments. Especially when we discover the facts that make up the plot twist, and what a twist I must say. Although I had an idea and got my guess right, it still had no less impact. And some scenes after that are capable of bringing tears to the eyes. What can I say? If it's only love is the most romantic, moving and beautiful second chance romance I ever read. A journey that leaves me breathless and speechless. Like true love always leaves us. *ARC provided in exchange for an honest Review * https://avidezliteraria.wordpress.com/

4.5 stars I have been looking forward to sister, Shay's book since the beginning of the series. And I have to say as much time as we spent with her, I never expected this to be her backstory. This is an emotional and angsty ride that spans years. Shay has crushed on her brother's best friend, Easton Connor since she was seven years old, but it was not until her late teens that he noticed her. But she was his friend's little sister and totally off-limits. Shay has crushed on her brother's best friend, Easton Connor since she was seven years old, but it was not until her late teens that he noticed her. But she was his friend's little sister and totally off-limits. At first the missed chances were expected due to circumstances, but later on they just become more and more serious and heartbreaking. These two could never seem to quite get their timing right and always seemed pulled in different directions. It was like life had other plans for them and fate kept them apart. And it was all a big secret from her close-knit family that always considered East one of their own. But now Easton is moving back to Jackson Harbor and his next goal is to win Shay once and for all. But their past is fall of disappointments, unresolved feelings, and broken promises. Shay is already a woman with self-worth issues and is already at a crossroads in her own life. And Easton's return threatens to stir up a lot of mixed feelings. I loved Easton. He is a charming, caring man with a big heart. For the most part he tried to do the right thing, but it just could not be the right thing for everyone at the same time. There were extenuating circumstances and hard decisions that had to be made. But he knows what he wants and is not afraid to go after it. I have always liked Shay. She is stubborn, sassy, and independent. But now we see more of her vulnerability, insecurities, past pain, and current issues. And not even she is not sure what she wants her to future to hold at this point. She has a lot of big decisions to make. These two have history and chemistry, and definitely pull strong feelings out of the other. Can East convince her to take chance on getting it right this time? And how will Shay's plans affect that? I have loved this series and it was fun catching up with all of her brothers and their significant others. There was so much more to Shay and Easton's story than I was expecting, but I was totally invested in them. It was a heartfelt, angsty, raw story of first love, second chances, choices, and consequences. It's sad to say goodbye to Jackson Harbor and this lovable family.
