It all started with a click of a camera.. After seeing this on my social media platforms I raced off to #oneclick and I’m so glad I did!! This is tagged as a dark read, for me it isn’t but that didn’t detract my enjoyment of this book! Though it did have a gritty element that I never saw coming! This is so much more than a bully book! We have a tough heroine that never backs down, and a boy who goes another level with his bullying antics to get what he wants.

"He's a sinner, a cruel boy, someone no one should ever want, yet everyone craves, including me." GOOD. GAWD!!! This intensely gripping bully romance is a dark and twisted read that will hold you absolutely spellbound. Clarissa's writing is so descriptive that I felt I was actually there with these characters, feeling everything they felt during each moment of this story. This all-consuming and addicting tale had me on the edge of my seat, hooked from beginning to end. This all-consuming and addicting tale had me on the edge of my seat, hooked from beginning to end. In Cruel Boy we meet Nate and Sam, two people who can't stand each other. Nate is a straight up asshole to Sam, all to get something he wants from her. He puts her through hell, but let me tell you, Sam gives as good as she gets. She does not put up with his bullshit. She fights him at every turn. But despite all of the push and pull in this love/hate relationship, it's obvious that they would make the perfect pair. You can't help but to get sucked into the endearing complexity of these characters and their tumultuous story. Even though there were times that Nate frustrated me to no end, I could not help but to fall in love with this beautiful, broken man. But will these two finally get what they want or will it all fall apart? Clarissa gave her readers an incredible story in Cruel Boy. I loved everything about this seemingly perfect couple's sexy, slow-burn, heart-tugging journey to happily ever after. And there are plenty of surprising moments that will keep you so enthralled that I can almost guarantee that you will polish this one off in just one sitting as I did. This was bully romance at its finest. Trust me when I say, you DO NOT want to pass this one up!

OMG ! What and intense spellbinding read. The story drew you in right from the very beginning and had you edge the entire time right until the story ended. This is not a story where you fall in love with its characters but, Samantha for us was one kick-ass girl.Samantha's life is a bit of a complication at the moment and then she see's something she should have not seen one night at a party and from that moment on she struck the attention of High Schools popular jock Nate who starts to bully her OMG ! Overall this was one intense read that made me uncomfortable the entire time but, it was also intriguing and edgy and the author made you feel like you were part of the plot the entire time. This is a first time read for us reading this kind of gene and I did not know what to expect especially when its a boy bullying a girl but, this story was not all that it seemed to be and it had a lot of moving parts and twists and turns and one dangerous attraction been the bully and the object of his desire. As the story progressed and grew more intense things all started to make sense and started to fell into place as to why Nate's personality took such a drastic turn. This was a well written read that had tons of mystery and suspense but, it also dealt with every day problems that teenagers deal with from drinking and parting, sex and making bad decisions that can change ones life forever...

***4 Stars*** Nothing can ever be easy, can it? Those were the words that popped up in my head many, many times while going on this journey with Nate and Sam, because, heaven help me. Nate did NOT make anything easy. True, he was stuck between a rock and a hard place, but he made things so much more difficult than they needed to be, more interesting for sure. But even though I desperately wanted to shake some sense into him, I couldn’t keep from turning the pages because the need to find out the ***4 Stars*** Nothing can ever be easy, can it? But even though I desperately wanted to shake some sense into him, I couldn’t keep from turning the pages because the need to find out the ‘secret’ was strong and in the end, it was quite a doozy! Nate and Sam were quite the pair. I really liked them. Both, at their very cores, are good people who are dealing with some stressful situations. Nate’s way of dealing is to dig deep into his baser urges ~ which he finds are a bit dark ~ and yet still finds a way to keep his heart from going absolutely black. Sam doesn’t pull any punches, even when she’d prefer to be invisible. She isn’t afraid to let everyone know how she feels, and yet there is a softness to her that comes out at the most interesting of moments.Their journey is intense and filled with a lot of assumptions, but when those assumptions are finally verbalized and the air is clear, they find that their jagged edges fit. As much as Nate and Sam’s interactions fascinated me, it was finding out the “secret” that really held my interest from the very start and though I didn’t figure it out until the big reveal ~ which was its own kind of crazy ~ I thoroughly enjoyed watching as all the pieces finally came together and, crazily enough, made sense in the end. As for the cast of characters that inhabited this world, the only one I truly liked was Monica and I’m hoping that we get to see her get her own HEA down the road. The rest...well, they were questionable at best. ~ Copy provided by the author & voluntarily reviewed

Woah I was not expecting that! Twists and turns galore in a steamy, gripping read. Dark and delicious and wonderfully written. I have yet to find a Clarissa Wild book I didn't love but this was something else altogether. The events were so current. My heart has whiplash, It was filled to bursting with joy, only to be smashed into tiny pieces, over and over. -Sara, 4 stars The suspense of this book drove me insane. So insane I finished it in four hours. Nate and Sam hate each other but share a secret. One that can ruin lives. He humiliates her time and time again and Sam always seems to fight back no matter what is thrown at her. I’ve read quite a few of this authors books and loved them so I was super excited to read her newest release. Cruel Boy is Nate. Something happens that changes him completely. Then Sam appears. Nate is an ass but I still liked him. Sam is amazing. She gave as good as she got. This is a well written bully romance that I inhaled in one sitting. I couldn’t put it down. I hope this author is busy storing more gems like this.

Wowza!! Such a beautiful, complex yet dark and twisted romance that will have you on the edge of your seat until quite literally the end. This was one of the best bully romances written and being that Clarissa Wild does it with a dark and twisted flair. It's quite fascinating to read because the chemistry between the main characters are sizzling yet there are this push/pull going on. Nate and Samare so complex and intense. "He's a sinner, a cruel boy, someone no one should ever want, yet everyone craves, including me." Cruel boy wasn't as cruel as I wanted him to be, but those last few pages when slowly unfolding on who's to blame and of what they did... Yeah, that was amazing!

I saw all the great reviews for this book and thought “great! If everyone like this, it’s gotta be something there.” Welp, gonna have deviate from the crowd. I found the jaded and bitchy and callous and soulless behavior of the heroine to be vile and a huge turn off. Still in HS, yet already hard and ugly, with the morals of an old meth wh*re. It’s just not a good look on someone so young. Cruel Boy by Clarissa Wild is my first read by this author. I have heard of her so when I saw the cover and blurb I immediately thought yes let’s give it a go. Cruel Boy is about Nate Wilson the Falcon Prep Eliot quarterback who is the boy that all the girls want. He has plans for his future and his gorgeous eyes and drop dead smile will entice you into his web, but he’s also got a dark side with a secret. Sam Cook, the girl that would rather slip into the shadows than be known, knows what that Cruel Boy by Clarissa Wild is my first read by this author. Sam Cook, the girl that would rather slip into the shadows than be known, knows what that secret is. She saw something and has proof, but could that proof destroy everything Nate has worked for? Cruel Boy is suspense filled and full of bullying. Not just from Nate who resorts to this to get what he wants from Sam. But also from some very dreadful secondary characters. However, Sam doesn’t go down without a fight. I pretty much figured out Nate’s secret and what happened right away as clues are dropped. This is told from dual POV’s. I liked it, but didn’t love it. It was a bit confusing at times. I felt like some stuff was thrown in too add some drama. Sam is said too be tough and doesn’t care about what people think, but then she’s said to let people walk all over her. Nate walks around all grungy and then he’s back to pretty boy. Also, I didn’t quite connect to Nate and Sam. It went straight from Hate to love to hate to love. It had me spinning at times. I hate to say I skimmed some as the story just felt all over the place at times. Overall, this just wasn’t the read for me. Will it turn me away from trying another book by this author? No. I had high hopes for this as I love bully reads, but this just missed my mark. I’m sure others will love it though. ARC received for honest review

This book surprised me. And I like surprises. :) I have read a lot of bully romance lately, and they all have the same type theme, that the boy is so mean to the girl that you want to slap the crap out of him until he straightens up. But this book is not like that. Cruel Boy is a high school theme story where everyone has to grow up in that almost-adult way. Great potential..... horrible execution I didn’t connect with these characters at all. The h had no particular personality. She was Into art, but didn’t really seem passionate about it. She was weirdly feisty so I thought ok bad ass chick with a chip in her shoulder. Come to find out she’s a weird, artsy girl, whose rich AF. I didn’t really get the chemistry between H and h. He just seemed like a pansy. Wouldn’t stick up for the girl he wanted. Instead coward to avoid confrontation. It was just kind of mentioned as an after thought. And the whole parents in the background?!?! I’m utterly confused as to its relevance and the fact that none of the conflict from that was resolved. Like why did Sam’s dad leave and just cut all contact, but was a minor character for the H. Nothing every really came to fruition. I didn’t like it. Weird plot line that was weirdly vague and pointless. I felt like the author set you up for all these interconnected story line and relationships, but was like nah... never mind.

Cruel Boy is a bully romance, one that had me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. Lately, I have been a sucker for bully romances, and this one ticks all the right boxes. In this book, you have Nate and Sam, two people that absolutely hate each other, but they hold a secret that could and would potently ruin peoples lives, well that is what Sam thinks, but does she really know that actual truth? (I know this makes no sense to you, but trust me it will once you start reading) Nate is anything but ordinary, frankly, he is an asshole. The shit he puts Sam through was enough to make me want to craw into the book and junk punch him, but Sam isn't want to take it lying down, she fights back. But damn it... Nate had me all bent out of shape... But as much as these two constantly kept butting heads... The more obvious it got that they two were meant for each other. That bullying and the way these two played off each other, I would feel the chemistry between the two only strengthen and heighten... I could tell from the beginning that there was something between the two and when it finally becomes known. You would think that things would finally fall into place for these two, but of course, the author wouldn't make it that simple... These two when they come together were intriguing and completely consuming, I couldn't help but fall in love with them as individuals and as as a pair, but fuck me I wanted to slap Nate more times than none. The chemistry with these two was off the charts, the push and pull, the love and hate... It was intoxicating and intense and all-consuming and drove me insane, to the point that I literally screamed out loud. Will these two finally get what they want and what they deserve? Or will it all crumble? This book... GOD DAMN, this book. I was so messed up in the head... I was fucking hooked, but I shouldn't be surprised, it is one of Clarissa's books and the way she weaved her words together to create such a masterpiece. Then you add in the dark side that Clarissa writes so well and you get this amazing book! I couldn't get enough! 5 Stars!!

I was expecting a dark bully romance but there was nothing really dark nor romantic about this book because it was just way too ridiculous and unrealistic, missing real sparks and tension for most of the book. Then some dark themes were thrown in at the end, that could be triggering to some people. The only curiosity was the secrets about the death of Nadine, so at the end when we discover the truth about her was intriguing enough to give this book two stars instead of one. I enjoyed this book more then I thought I would originally, it was a tad bit slow at times for me and wasn’t as bullyish as I assumed but, that’s just cause I prefer darker bully books but that’s just me so for someone this might be perfect. I was hooked though and wanted to know exactly what happened “that night” that linked Sam and Nate. The ending was the perfect storm but also very sad at what happened that night and also what happens at the party that brings everything full circle.

Laughably bad. None of the characters act like real people, it's like they're aliens who have come to earth to woodenly act out a script based on poorly-translated characters from every teen movie you've ever seen. It's trope-y, but not in a good way, and totally flat. A very confusing read.

I am the creep who stalks her. The killer who chases her. The bully who makes her feel helpless. The guy who wants what he came for. As popular as Clarissa is, seeing that she has a new title releasing doesn't do for me what it does for others. The reason for that? Well, I read the first book in the Debt Duet and really hated the writing. But I am a sucker for bully romance and second chances so that's how I find myself blown away and still reeling from Nate and Sam's story. I know this is said I am the creep who stalks her. I know this is said about almost every bully romance, but this one is not your typical boy likes girl but doesn't want to so he is mean to her. No, this goes into an entirely different realm where one flash of a camera late at night connects two different people together with the potential of catastrophic results. She knows what I’ve done … and she knows the goddamn truth. It’ll only be a matter of time until the world finds out too. Told in dual POV, this standalone bully romance is slow burning perfection....mastering the art of the build up by giving us equal glimpses into the mind of the bully and his prey. It so skillfully blends a suspenseful mystery and love story in a way so many others fail to do. It does contain some dark themes (specifically bullying and sexual assault*not by bully*), so those that may be triggered should go in cautious. It does end with a HEA with the mystery solved. I’ll never forget her piercing eyes staring back at me when we were both at the beach. Where I tried to wash away my sins. But not even the ocean can rinse the stain on my soul. Sam is an outcast, always finding peace within the world of the photographs she takes and the paintings and sketches she creates. That world is what changes the course of her life forever, when she captures pics of an event that she shouldn't have seen.....one flash gets the attention of Falcon Elite's star QB and King of the halls, one flash changes her from a "nobody" to his prey. She knows his secret and that makes her dangerous. She doesn't know what to believe, only that the gorgeous man turned her nightmare is making her feel things she shouldn't.....and those feelings? They are a risk to her life. I have no other leverage. Nothing to bargain with. Nothing to give her but my rage. But fear is an amazingly persuasive tool. And I intend to use it to my advantage. Nate Wilson had life mapped out until the night of Robby's party. That's when it all changed, changing him in the process. And if the truth gets out? His life is over as he knows it. He needs those pictures and hes prepared to do whatever it takes to get them. The beautiful girl who has them? He's going to break her down until she gives in, no matter what he has to do to make it happen. No one knows the real him, the guy behind the perfect mask....but Sam sees him and that scares him. He's never felt this way about anyone and it could all be ruined because of the very moment that connected them in the first place. How can he prove to her how he feels when his whole world is crashing down around him? She’s the girl I shouldn’t want—the girl who holds the keys to my unraveling—yet I can’t stop craving the very thing I should fear. I can’t stop myself from wanting to get closer every single time I see her. Something about that girl makes me go wild. But not everything is as it seems, not the events of that night and not who the golden boy really is. Will the truth be too much to handle? Will the truth about what happened on that beach be revealed? And can these two get through it together? The road to HEA is a suspensful one, filled with shocking twists and devastating confessions. “You’re scared that you actually like me,” he murmurs. His forehead leans against mine. “You’re scared of what might happen if you let me kiss you,” he whispers, his mouth a hair’s breath away from mine. “You’re scared of what might happen if you let me have you … If you become mine.” Overall, this had layers upon layers of incredible storyline. There were moments I was so wrapped up in the mystery of what happened that I forgot it was a romance. There were other times where I forgot who the bully really was. Clarissa did a PHENOMENAL job of even layering the big "shocker", involving so many other aspects and characters into it. She was able to drop enough crumbs throughout to feed my intrigue while making us wait just as long as Sam has to in order to get the truth. Hell, I even loved the extra drama that I normally criticize in other reads. The POV switch up was incredible, giving both characters equal time to tell their story.... the opportunity for us to see the whys that fueled the behavior of both antihero and heroine. “Don’t play with me, Nate Wilson,” I reply. “I don’t wanna play. Playing means staying nice, and I don’t wanna be nice,” he whispers, planting a soft, delectable kiss on my shoulder. But what I loved the most? Nate's journey of self discovery and of accepting who he really is. The journey of shedding the mask he never wanted to wear but was pressured into. I'm not 100% certain on this, but Nate seemed to be inspired by rapper NF (he is featured on the playlist included in the book) which was an extra "love" for me.....big fan of NF. Between his aspirations, his self-hatred and disappointment, his fears and inner turmoil....I was pleasantly surprised at how much I loved the golden boy not only being a "fraud" but the way Sam is able to connect and encourage the boy behind the mask. Its deep and inspirational, the one time I truly rooted for the bully wholeheartedly. Temptation. Filthy kisses under the night sky. And a bad boy whose dangerous gaze would make any girl’s heart crumble. I can’t fall in love with him. Anyone but him. Coming from someone who wasn't impressed with Clarissa Wild prior to this book, I'm telling you to give it a chance. This is an experience, one that will take you on the ride of your life. "Him … he’s my muse. It’s always been him, from the day I first saw him until now. He’s my painting come to life … the troubled bad boy always looking for a fight. The boy who sets my soul on fire with a simple, scorching touch." I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Nate Wilson is a popular football jock at his high school. Often toying with the girls and not in a good way. Sam is someone who is hard but yet soft. She isn’t afraid of showing / telling her feelings. When she tumbles with Nate he’s up for a match with her. Sometimes people are bullies because of something else going on in their life. They might be acting out due to something personal going on in their life. Plenty of twists and turns to keep you in your toes. I did receive a free ARC copy of Nate Wilson is a popular football jock at his high school. Often toying with the girls and not in a good way. Sam is someone who is hard but yet soft. Nate bullies Sam to get her to stop her from revealing his secret. This secret could destroy him and his bullying her makes a strong, smart character that will give as much as she gets. Their story is full of twist and turns and will have you the edge of your seat. This dual POV will show their fierceness and strenght of character. This awesome nail biting story will take you on a roller coaster ride of emotions. I volunteered to review an arc of this story.

This is the first book I have read by Clarissa Wild and definitely won't be my last. This is not my usual read but I thoroughly enjoyed "Cruel Boy" and was captivated by the characters. Nate, popular, sexy football quarterback is every girl at Falcon Prep schools crush. Sam, a strong willed, take no crap girl who's main interest is art and photography takes pictures at a year-end party that has Nate taking interest and bullying Sam. This is a dark, twisted, funny at times, enjoyable read.

I totally adored Cruel Boy by Clarissa Wild. It had all the elements that made it great. The storyline kept me interested. There was always an event occurring, keeping you on your toes, wanting to know more. The two main characters, Nate & Sam, had amazing chemistry, even when they tried to hate each other. To me, this met my expectations and would completely recommend. Happy Reading!!!

Cruel Boy (A Dark High School Bully Romance) this book was another good read. I enjoyed reading about the theme of a high school bully this was a different element for me to read. I thought the characters were good and as well as the storyline it was enjoyable to read. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book

This was a romantic suspense with the plot having a strong bullying trope to it. Nate is a popular jock and was present at a house party were Samantha was also. He now wants to know exactly what she knows, by bullying her. The tension is high, and the need to find out was riveting. I liked how the characters developed and their relationship changed grew as the story progressed. A very intriguing and intense story. A great read!
