He is cocky and arrogant but he was not supposed to fall for his step sister"s best friend. " “You’re not a means to an end, Giles. You’re endgame.” Holy shit! first thing first. when this book appeared on my kindle, I literally started at it and asked myself " am I going to read this now?" out of happiness, as pathetic as I sound but that's true. you know that feeling when you want to read a book so bad and after 50 years ( it feels like 50 years) you finally get it? Jason? what do i say about him? I shipped Jason and Felicity from the first book, literally and this book just killed me. their was chemistry, hot, flaming, lava, chemistry which can burn kindles. I know I am exaggerating but its true. i loved Jason and felicity"s story, i finished this book in one sitting. i loved their hate to love story. We get to know so much more about Jason and the person behind his rough exterior. Felicity was perfect for him, she made him kneel in front of her. they had their misunderstandings, Jason was a jerk to her but then he was also in love with her. i never thought that Jason would risk his career for felicity, that was a shock. I love Jason, and felicity is weird and i can relate myself to her so much. even i make lists 😂😂. we get to see who is going to be Asher"s love Intrest ( maybe its her ) and i already love her so much. she is badass. I loved this book a lot but there was something missing and sure it was not like something I expected to be. I guess I wanted more of felicity and Jason but it was blunt. Y E S my heart just went soft for him and the things he did in the first book? forgotten. so basically, Jace is the stepbrother from hell of the h in the first book, Hailee, and he’s been “bullying” her and the h here, Felicity, ever since Hailee’s mom and his dad got together. at the end of the first book, Hailee walks in on Felicity and Jace doing it. obviously, Jace somewhat regrets it because he can't afford any distractions because he's the QB and he wants to go to NFL blah blah blah. and Felicity did it with Jason because of her "list" but we all know she has feelings for him and vice versa. so, this definitely has the enemies to lovers and a lot of push and pull. even though i forgave Jace, his actions is one of the reasons why i gave this a mediocre rating. what i disliked since there's a lot of push and pull and given how Jason paraded his OW sexcapades in front of Felicity in the first book, there's a little bit of OW drama here (he kissed OW in front of her a few times and when he got jealous of seeing Felicity with Asher when they were at the bar, he got drunk and followed OW in the storage room at the bar and he got a bj). i really dislike when H is intimate with any other OW after he's been intimate with h ESPECIALLY when Felicity and Jase were making out hours before he hooked up with this OW. so yeah... i didn't really like that and i really wish they talked about this more. he did say he didn't "fuck" her but he also didn't tell her the truth, which was kind of disappointing. BUT i really appreciate how guilty and remorseful he felt and that's a plus for me. and besides, the OW drama in the last half of the book was more of him protecting Felicity, which ironically, won me over with his character. another thing i didn't really like was when Felicity would give in too easily, not letting Jason work really hard. don't worry, she's no doormat, she actually fights back but at the same time, she was just too nice and forgave him all the damn time. i just wanted more grovelling tbh. "I'm not running," I said defiantly. "Good, because I'd chase you to the ends of the earth. You're mine, Felicity. Every single piece of you.” anyways, do i still want Asher and Felicity together? yeah...? maybe? idk. maybe im just biased because Asher is my fave and he really did treat Felicity like a queen in the last book but whatever, Jace has won me over and him and Felicity are actually pretty cute. can’t wait to read Asher and Mya’s book!

Jason’s problem though.... ”I couldn’t be committed one hundred percent to the game and committed to some girl.” ”Football was in my blood; my legacy.” Jason struggles with the pressure of everyone else’s expectations, he struggles with what he wants and he does it all internally, never asking for help. But Flick calms the storm that is swirling inside of Jase and he hates that. Flick, I loved her so much. She doesn’t put up with Jase’s crap and goes after her own dreams. She hates that she wants him though. She hates that she has feelings for him and can’t do anything about it. Can we just have a minute to say how much I LOVE ASHER and I need his book! I can’t wait to see that guy bought to his knees! I love him. A RIXON RAIDER STOLE MY HEART....and I’m not even sorry.

Jason Ford and Felicity Giles are a beautiful disaster, a storm that will blow your mind. "She reminded me of a doe. Innocent and vulnerable. Waiting to be picked off by the big bad wolf." Jason, the bad boy whose bitter and cold hurt slowly turns to gold as soon as he allows himself to care. My heart broke for him so many times through the book, and even though I should have hated him, I couldn't bring myself to. Felicity, the girl with the lists, determined to make her last school year count. She's such a strong personality, and with her constant inner and outer sunshine, Felicity managed to break the icy walls around Jason's heart. "Jason Ford was the devil in sheep's clothing and I was nothing more than a game wrapped up in a pretty package." I really do love the new world the author created with the Rixon Raiders series. The characters are all captivating and addicting. The way they work together is like a perfect game you win at the end and I can't wait to read the next book, hoping there will be even more books. ""You're not a means to an end, Giles. You're endgame." The Game You Play is the next perfect enemies-to-lovers romance in the Rixon Raiders series, showing there is no dangerously sweeter win as love over hate.

His heart.’ This Author writes the ultimate angst and enemies to lover’s romance. Readers who love high school bully romance and YA/NA sports romance will LOVE this series. It certainly invoked a lot of emotions in us and we were in a love-hate relationship with a lot of the characters along the way. We now cannot wait for the third book in this series. Whilst they are marketed as standalones we would personally say read this series in order so that -as a reader- you get the most out of the characters and a continuing storyline which simmers in the background to the individual friendships and love stories. “Sometimes it feels like I can’t breathe without the whole town watching.” Felicity Giles and Jason Ford have a hate-hate relationship with an intense physical attraction thrown in. Complete opposites, with only one thing in common –Hailee- who is Felicity’s best friends and Jason’s step sister. Felicity is unique and quirky; busy making her lists and following a strict path set by her parents. She’s a loyal and sweet friend who sees the good in people. Jason only has one dream, football. His path is clear, and heaven help anything or anyone who comes between him and his football. The words that come to mind when thinking of Jason are: cruel, cold-hearted and let’s be honest, a bit of a male slapper! School rivalry and personal vendettas rule the school halls – love is the last thing anyone is looking for. It will only complicate things, right?! ‘I wanted that. I wanted to take risks and throw caution to the wind. I wanted to go after what I wanted.’ We really enjoyed the high school dramatics, the soul searching and the sentiments, but we have to say we thrived on the intense angst that was so well written in this story. L.A. Cotton did a brilliant job with redemption and showing that what made the characters act in certain ways did not ultimately define them nor determine who they’d eventually become. Everyone deserves love and happiness because underneath a hard front, a human soft centre resides. ‘ ‘And although I’d never do it, for the first time in my life, I wanted to chase the girl.’ Available to purchase below Amazon US Amazon UK Come and say hi, at: ✲ TotallyBookedBlog ✲ TBB on Facebook ✲ TBB on Instagram ✲ TBB on Twitter ✲ TBB on Pinterest

The Game You Play is a fantastic blend of sweet, sexy romance and the kind of angst, emotion and playful banter that readers have come to crave from this author. And everything is going as planned until she interferes, and he doesn't like it one bit. She is a distraction and definitely one he doesn't need. Felicity Giles is kind and quirky with her whole life already mapped out for her. She is to follow in her parent's footsteps by graduating high school, going to college at UPenn and getting her business degree. But that's not what she really wants to do. She wants to explore her options and find something she's passionate about. But in the meantime, it's her senior year and she wants to make the most of it, so she puts together a bucket list of all that she wants to do before she graduates. And falling in love with the quarterback was definitely not part of the plan. I loved Jason and Felicity's story! Their chemistry was fiery hot and absolutely burned up the pages. I loved seeing how their love-hate relationship slowly blossomed into a sweet and beautiful romance. These are two characters that I was happy to go on this journey with. It wasn't always easy for them, but together they were able to conquer it all. Once again, this author delivered a story that I loved and couldn't have stopped reading if I tried. I devoured The Game You Play in a day, smiling and loving it the whole way through. It was sexy, sweet and an absolute delight to read. Please do yourself a favor and make sure not to pass this one up! It is well worth the time and the money spent.

Jason Ford is everything untouchable. Football is the singular most important thing in his life. He eats, sleeps and breathes football. He’s the big shot quarterback with football running through his veins. He only cares about winning State, going to college and continuing to play and ultimately playing in the NFL. He doesn’t have time for anything else, not that he cares. He’s arrogant, cocky, wild and the life of the party. And everything is going according to plan until the biggest distraction gets in his way and he doesn’t like it one bit, not at all. Felicity Giles’ life is already mapped out for her. Finish high school, go to college and get a business degree like her parents and get a good steady job. It’s all well and good, but she doesn’t want to follow in her parents’ footsteps. More than anything she wants to find what’s right for her and see what she’s passionate about. She wants senior year to be memorable, so she makes a list of all the things she wants to do before she graduates. And one of those things on her list was definitely not falling for her best friends step-brother. Felicity and Jason shouldn’t go together, but there’s something about them that just clicks. Felicity is Jason’s calm, she eases him and just makes everything bearable and better. There’s definitely more to Jason than his tough exterior, and little by little he shows he’s more than what people perceive him to be. Felicity and Jason’s chemistry was scorching. There was no denying the electricity they gave off, straight up fire. Their journey isn’t easy, but together they can battle anything. The Game You Play was angsty, emotional and filled with banter. I loved the friendship between Felicity and Hailee and liked the addition to their group. I also couldn’t get enough of Jason’s friendship with Cam and especially Asher. I knew I already liked Asher, but he made me fall harder for him in this book. I can’t wait for more of his story, I desperately need his book! I can’t get enough of these characters and their antics and just want more. Definitely recommend! *I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book*

Oh my, Jason. If you have read Book 1 in the series, you know he's a class A-A**hole. What I loved the most about The Game You Play was that L.A Cotton didn't excuse his behavior but made us embrace it. Step by step Jason learns, changes and we can see he might become a decent adult (mostly thanks to his girl though). It just takes him a while, but again, you won't expect less once you know who he is and what is expected from him. A great read not to miss. I can't wait for next book!

I was so excited for Jase's book and he did not disappoint. I was super excited to get inside his head and see what was really going down between him and Felicity and truth be told I had expected by that point to have been more than what it was but I'm glad to not have missed much and to have a full view of messed up relationship. Yes, messed up because with Jase that's the only thing you'll get. He's a douchebag through and through and although you'll learn to love him like his friends do, there's still so many times you'll want to punch some sense into him. If you thought Cam and Hailee were frustrating, this one is way worse in the best way though. Jase doesn't want to fall in love and wants nothing serious but he can't seem to stay away from Felicity and no matter how many times he hurts her she can't seem to say no to him. It's a f*cked up back and forth relationship but it works and it's 100% them. The good, the bad, the worse. All in one big clusterf*ck of emotions and high school drama and rivalry. As always someone always ends up in the crossfire between Raiders and the Rixon East Eagles. Jase will end up surprising you and his love for Felicity will slap you in the face and shock your heart into cardiac arrest. Gosh, my love for him grew slowly throughout the book but there was one defying moment were I feel for him completely. He hides so much of himself and what he really feels. I hope one day he and his Dad can repair their relationship because the hurt and anger that Jase carries inside him hurt even to read about and it's the cause of everything else. My goodness, Hailee and Cam could not have been more adorable in this book. The little glimpses of the two 'angels' and happy and in love made me happy. Hailee and Felicity's relationship although sometimes rocky due to Felicity liking Jase was amazing to read. And let's not forever the new addition to their group and Asher's love interest, Mya. I'm so curious about her and cannot wait to learn more about her past and her friendship with Asher. And of course, I can't forget this little nugget because I love him tremendously. He won me over in book 1 but I fell so hard for him in this one. He is the best kind of friend, willing to put his friends before himself and sacrifice anything for them. He is the true depiction of loyalty and friendship. A true Huffepuff and I am hereby claming him. The Game You Play is a novel filled with so much goodness, there is delicious banter and sexual chemistry, there amazing friends, all the drama of a high school romance and there is a lot of angst and just so much more that made this book into the amazing thing it is. I love this group of teammates and their girls and I can't wait for more of them and to finally see my baby Asher get his spotlight. ➳ARC kindly provided by author, in exchange for an honest review. ➳ Order at: Amazon UK ⁕ Amazon US ➳ Follow me on: Blog ⁕ Instagram ⁕ Facebook ⁕ Twitter

Jason Ford is the captain and quarterback of the Rixon Raiders. He lives for football. He has it in his blood and soul. He only cares about winning State, going to UPenn and becoming a NFL star, but there is more to him than that. He comes across as a jerk, cocky and so full of himself. However, underneath that he actually cares about others even though he doesn't show it. His family is his two best friends. He can't stand his dad and what he has done and his mom left him high and dry. So Jason has some trust and abandonment issues that he won't show to others, nope this is where the jerky tendenices come out. He is also a ladies man and doesn't ever dip into a girl more than once, except there is one that seems to be getting under his skin. Felicity. His step-sister's quirky best friend. Felicity Giles is a girl who has her future set. Or at least the future her parents want her too have. She wants to be independent, but doesn't want to step on anyone's toes or hurt feelings. She's quirky and beats to her own drum. She has decided to to a senior bucket list to achieve some things in her life she wouldn't necessarily do. For years, she has had a secret crush on Jason even though he has never shown her any attention. She knows he would never fall for a girl like her, but that doesn't stop her from falling into his web and falling for the bad boy. She can't seem to say no to him and he pushes all her buttons, but will her heart survive this year? Jason and Felicity are the couple I was rooting for right as soon as I dived in. I found myself addicted to their push and pull. I had a few moments that I wanted to kick Jason in his junk and smack Felicity upside the head. C'mon girl let him go, he doesn't want you, but he did kept a hold of her. Jason did some things to Felicity that broke my heart, but once everything is laid out, you understand what he was doing and you might just swoon. I love the secondary characters and I can't wait for Asher's book. Asher Asher Asher!! L.A. Cotton brings the angst, love/hate and swoon worthy moments with this. I felt like I was on the sidelines seeing everything unfold and cheering on the Raiders to victory! I can't wait for more!! ARC Received for honest review

One word: JASE! This book is so good. I had all these crazy expectations going in after the first book in this series, just because Jase is such an ass in The Trouble With You, but The Game You Play exceeded them with flying colors! I love all the characters, the angst, and the twists and turns that evolve through out this story. Flick and Jase are both fantastic in the book, and Cameron, Hailee, and Asher are back, along with a new character or two to add to the drama. If you love Sports Romanc One word: JASE! „It had never been in my plan to meet someone, to let someone in. To distract me. Then she came along.” I was waiting so impatiently for Jason’s story, but it was worth every torturous second! The Game You Play exceeded all of my expectations. I was reading this book with bated breath and I couldn’t put it down even for a second. There were many surprises, twists and swoon-worthy moments. I knew that Jason is so much more than mean and arrogant quarterback we got to know in previous book „It had never been in my plan to meet someone, to let someone in. I knew that Jason is so much more than mean and arrogant quarterback we got to know in previous book in the series, but I wasn’t expecting such a big shocker! L.A. Cotton blew my mind and made me fall ridiculously in love with Jason Ford and Felicity Giles! Jason is a cold and callous quarterback focused solely on football and he doesn’t want any distractions, especially in the form of quirky and pesky Felicity, who’s his step-sister’s best friend. Felicity is a people’s pleaser and rule-follower. That’s why she decided to make a list for her last year of high school. She wants to experience this time to the fullest. But she didn’t predict that she’ll fall for the bad boy quarterback, who has ‘heartbreak’ written on his forehead. Football isn’t the only game that takes place in Rixon. And it seems that the play won’t be fair either. This book is filled to the brim with football, school rivalry, but also personal vendetta. It’s also charged with sizzling chemistry between main characters, but both of them are trying to cool down the burning desire. This hate to love story gave me all the feels and their relantionship was such an emotional rollecoaster, that I was alternately swooning and getting upset/mad. Both Jason and Felicity are dealing with their own issues and their together moments were what they both needed. I loved when they were vulnerable and open to each other, without the facade they both maintained. The whole story has also a bit of thrill, that kept me in constant lip-biting state. Jason’s impulsiveness left him with revenge-seeking enemy, who threatens everything Jason holds dear. But you can be sure that this quarterback isn't afraid to play dirty. The Game You Play was engaging and riveting read. I loved everything in this book- the storyline was pure perfection, characters were real and brilliantly developed and their chemistry was palpable. L.A. Cotton created masterful Young Adult sports romance with hate to love trope. I’m completely in love with this series and I can’t wait for more! #GoRaiders! *ARC received in exchange for an honest review.

So, I liked this book a lot more than book 1 but still felt a few things missed the mark. 1. Again, these characters should have been in college, not high school. 2. While I felt we got more character interaction between Flick & Jason, it annoyed me to no end how easily she caved to him every time he touched her/looked at her. Like, COME ON girl! It was annoying and really wasn't enough for him to act the way he did...but I get that it was the main motivator for his dickish behavior so....it is what it is. 5. I really, really liked seeing the change in his character when he FINALLY came around! 6. I liked seeing Flick push herself to want more than the mundane...I just needed her to have more of a VOICE. I'm excited to read Asher's book because I adore his character so much. The jury is still out on whether I'll like the character that was showing potential as his love interest....I wasn't too fond of her in this book at all.

Honestly, it took me a damn long time to get on board with Jason. In the first book, The Trouble with You, I thought of him as the ultimate asshole villain—and not one I could like. He had a longggggg way to go to redeem himself for how he treated Hailey and in turn treated Felicity. Obviously, he had so much to make up for. It’s a good thing we got his POV in this book because otherwise, I probably would have hated him even more than I already did. It’s a good thing we got his POV in this book because otherwise, I probably would have hated him even more than I already did. As I stated before, it took me too long to jump on board with him. He was too hot and cold for my liking. And Felicity just took it and forgave him way too easily. I wanted him to grovel. Here we have this amazing as hell football player that literally has the world at his feet. Would it hurt to make the boy suffer more just a tad bit longer than he did? Maybe I’m just too picky. Regardless, I wanted. That being said, I enjoyed the crap out of the second book of the Rixon Raiders. Especially Asher. He’s what I’m most looking forward to reading about. Could anyone ask for a dreamier book boyfriend? Besides Cam, that is. Overall, I liked this one quite a bit despite some of things I stated earlier. This is has it all—angst and drama galore! I’m ready for the next one! *Thank you to the author for providing a free copy in exchange for an honest an unbiased review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

The Game You Play (Rixon Raiders #2) is a ya romance novel told in dual pov. This author writes books that are highly addictive and this novel fits that perfectly. Character's are compelling with complex personalities. A array of supporting character's that accentuate the narrative. I absolutely love the arrangement and the football game technicalities which was well researched. The narrative glides through smoothly. Looking forward to reading the next novel in this highly enslaving series.

Not defending him by any means but you will get it when you read it. Yeah, Jason was the mean bully stepbrother in Trouble With You, and now the bully arrogant A$$ hole in The Game You Play. He made Felicity suffer so much, but I like to think he suffered more. He suffered more because Felicity turned his world upside down. She was so unexpected and unwanted. He didn't wanted her in his head, in his heart, in his life, but the heart always wants what it wants. Felicity was amazing. She was perfect. My only objection for her is that I would've wanted her much stronger. I know she was in love with Jason, and love washes your brain, but she could've been much worse with Jason and unforgiven. All in one, I loved the book. I was glued to her, couldn't put it down. You definitely WANT TO READ THIS BOOK. Can't wait for Asher story.

Ahhhh. Jason and Flick. I've been waiting for this story and it did not disappoint. Jason is a tough character. He's got quite a bit of issues. Flick is just driving him mad, because he doesn't understand his feelings for her. We dive into their story, their drama, their senior year. The supporting characters were fantastic in this story. His strong character, his indifference, his alpha male presence make it impossible to stop reading it. And near a so strong man can be no one other than someone like Felicity. I loved their chemistry, how he can’t help falling at her feet every time, like he was superman and she his criptonite. I devoured it in one night. So I really recommend it . ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars.
