#blackloveathon prompt: read a black, queer romance 4.5 stars I should not have stayed up this late but....this was hot like genuinely had me blushing kind of hot. So perhaps the sleep deprivation was worth it This book is about two black couples that live next door to each other and they become a polyamorous unit because the girls are hot for each other. It’s mostly erotica but it’s a great time A++ smut, plus sized rep, and full of loving partnerships and open communication. We have to stan. #blackloveathon prompt: read a black, queer romance 💫 4.5 stars I should not have stayed up this late but....this was hot like genuinely had me blushing kind of hot. Things you need to read Neighborly: Time to read it through completely A huge glass or a jug of water A fan Jackson does erotica like it’s her day job. Sex was the star of Neighborly, but the sensual couples were the headliners. Heaven and Calvin were relationship goals. I hate to sound cliche, but they were. The notion of being a couple that appreciates the other without cattiness, pettiness, or silly arguments is a treat. I am team drama in the books I enjoy, but I loved Calvin and Heaven. The notion of being a couple that appreciates the other without cattiness, pettiness, or silly arguments is a treat. I am team drama in the books I enjoy, but I loved Calvin and Heaven. They had an understanding and a reciprocal relationship that was as easy as Sunday morning. I’m full of cliches today, aren’t I? Calvin and Heaven loved and treated each other with so much respect and adoration. I was almost tempted to jump on social media to look for a man that could compare; almost. Let’s not get beside ourselves. I loved the idea of them moving into their first home together and all the small details the author gave to make the story more realistic and engaging. I mean, do I need to convince y’all? If you’ve been a follower of this blog, you know I love Kat Jackson books, and this one was no exception. Our secondary characters, Tasha and Stephen were fun. They added something to the story, a story that was already doing well on its own. It was like being offered dessert after a great meal. Now, let's briefly talk about the chemistry and the sex in the book. It was hot. It was damn near combustible. The book was well written, and the details were on point. It was easy to read and thoroughly engaging. Jackson’s voice is strong, and so are her stories. I highly recommended the book for erotica fans and otherwise.

Here's the thing about the best erotic romance out there: it's about feelings and not just fucking. And this book is pretty great. It's very hot, but the emotional attachments between the two couples and then between Heaven and Tasha is just great. ALSO VERY HOT. I loved this very quick and satisfying read.

No relationship angst, just worries about money and being a couple through another's career choices and financial worries, illuminating to see in a romance where often, especially in White romances, money is never an issue.

OMG, THE TENSION!! All four of the characters are such a treat! The story is mostly about the beautiful buildup between Tasha and Heaven, but their partners were a delight as well. "Neighbors to Lovers" is one of my favorite tropes and this book is a winner! God bless thin walls, lol!

An artist and her boxer boyfriend move into a duplex. Sparks fly between the artist and her landlordess. Super hot. And a study in establishing characters efficiently and thoroughly. It felt complete. And did I mention that it is very spicy?

This in no way influences my review; all words, thoughts, and opinions are my own. The perfect blend of swoon and steam! Content notes: (view spoiler)[ 💙 anxiety, self-consciousness 💙 violence (boxing bouts) 💙 injuries 💙 mention of deceased parent (mother) 💙 explicit sexual content 💙 slight voyeurism (thin walls) 💙 past poverty 💙 alcohol consumption (hide spoiler)] Katrina Jackson is hands-down one of my favorite authors and Neighborly does not disappoint! Heaven and Calvin have been together for three years and are finally ready to move in together, but finding a place they can afford near Calvin’s gym is proving stressful and makes Heaven wonder if they should wait a little longer before moving in together. That changes when Calvin find a duplex that Heaven quickly falls in love with - especially when it comes with a shed she can use as her art studio. Things only improve when she meets her landlord’s wife, Tasha, and the sparks immediately fly between them. One of my absolute favorite things about Neighborly is all the different ways love is expressed between Heaven and Calvin, and Tasha and Stephen. They each take care of their partners in different ways and support one another in dreams and goals. For Heaven, that means going to Calvin’s boxing matches though she hates the scrutiny and often feels others don’t think she’s worthy of him. For Calvin, he does everything he can to encourage Heaven’s art and creation, while also “rewarding” her after he wins a match by sexing her up. Stephen does what he can to alleviate the aches Tasha has from working in a nail salon, but never trying to get her to change her dreams or job. The love literally jumps off the page with so many little gestures and verbal declarations. But at its center, this is Heaven and Tasha’s story. Tasha and Stephen have been in an open relationship most of their seven years together, so long as their is honesty and communication. Heaven and Calvin have only been with each other, but meeting Tasha is the first time Heaven has been interested in anyone other than Calvin in their time together. There’s an almost slow-burn quality to the way Heaven and Tasha get together, a build up of trust and friendship that culminates in a deep, caring connection. I had so much fun reading this and couldn’t put it down. This is a great erotica full of Black relationships and I swooned as frequently as I had to fan myself. Hard recommend if you’re looking for a fun, sweet erotica about two women’s attraction to one another and the loving men who encourage and support them.

I used to LOVE short, smutty novellas. But in recent years, I've found these types of stories just don't work for me anymore. I need more. The book was well written and super sexy, but it just didn't pull me in the way I wanted.

Recommended by Book Riot and When In Romance, plus a quick read. It was...ok. As an erotic novella, I wasn’t expecting much in the way of plot, and while there was some, it wasn’t amazing. Oh well, no biggie. The writing style was a bit lacklustre, too. Again, no biggie. But where this should have shined? The actual hot stuff. It was so nice to read about curves and cellulite as sexy!

Y’all... I was not ready for this book. It rocked my universe in indescribable ways. The steamy bits are the STEAMIEST, the tension and chemistry OFF THE CHARTS, but the best part - my favorite part - was the relationships. The way both male characters honored, respected, and cherished their women in every way AND the way that it was completely reciprocal. It was absolutely beautiful and totally aspirational.

Good is an understatement I read reviews that said this was good, but oh boy did they under shoot that assessment. This was hot! Not in a bust through the door type of way, but in a well wrtten story that works you up as much as the characters are, so when THE time comes, it's well earned and very satisfying.

Insanely hot, but also, you can absolutely feel the emotional connection between the two couples (Calvin and Heaven and Stephen and Tasha). It elevates the story from just plain erotic to something way more. Definitely will be looking into this author’s backlist.

Another great read brought by the one and only Katrina Jackson. She makes me love love, yeah that sounds cliché, I know! But the way she wrote her love stories is so good, that we want everyone to be loved like this. And of course the sex was THAT good. So that deserves more than 5 stars.
